Marketing manager of a bar? Fuck that. Whoever has a job like that is a loser. A college dropout basically. Got weeded out their first 2 years in college and sunk into this marketing thing, which is nothing more than a cultural thing, not a real job.

Fuck marketing managing, and fuck all marketing managers.

we for a time were looking for a marketing person for our smaller company. this position would was basically managing social media, doing SEO for the website, managing the website, and writing copy for releases, email DRIP campaigns, and such.

hundreds of resumes with "marketing manager" in them. the interviews were attrocious. If all you do is update facebook for a company, you are not a marketing manager.

and i thought hiring sales people was awful.

This sounds like this was more like a terrible write-up for the job description, or bad screening of resumes. How would somebody that unqualified even get in the door for an interview?

the job description is pretty thorough. But the screening of resume's is done by people who've been hiring and firing for decades. (they do pretty well for all the other departments) They are able to market themselves pretty well via their resume. I will say that even though the pay is good for this area, its still probably on the low end for technical writing and marketing.

I like fuck marketing but the ads seem to give my anti virus fits.
