I guess I'll try picking it up later today after work.

Why not just download it?

Just never done that. I would prefer to have the disc and maybe have some resale value if I want to sell it after I'm done with it.

Ok.
I stopped buying physical copies years ago. Any expansions you buy will be dlc and the base games nowadays dont have hardly any resale as a result since physical copies tend to carry DLC after a while. But you do you bro.

I saw some advertisement for it coming with the game. Might be pre-order? I did the Playstation Store digital copy.

I like having the physical disk.

I think I still buy most of my games via physical copy. I have 10-15 PS4 games on disk. I have Horizon, RDR2, The Show and a couple others digital download. I wanted to make sure I could play RDR2 asap.

I pussied out last night and went to bed at 2am but I'll get out of here a little early I think and get back to it.

GF is in Portland for the weekend so November and I will nerd it up.

I got one mission left on Spider-Man, but I want to do the DLC and possibly a new game + before starting in on RDR2. We'll see how long I can resist.

Just wait for all 3 DLC's to come out on Spider-man before you do that.

Only problem with that is that by then I'll be so engrossed in RDR2 that I won't want to touch Spidey.

I guess the smart move would be to wrap up Spidey today and then start in on RDR and then when I'm all done with RDR go back and hit up spidey for new game + and DLC. That would mean not touching Spidey again till maybe a year from now. Not sure I want to hold off on all the DLC that long.

Decisions decisions.

Finally stopped getting myself roped into story missions at the first encampment (WARNING: Saying "hello" to one of your gang could trigger a mission) and was just able to explore. It took me three attempts to rob the back room of the doctor's office in Valentine, but I got a new revolver out of the deal and enough cash to pay off the bounty that came with the robbery, as stealth wasn't an option.

This game can be a lot of fun, but there is just so much to do it can be overwhelming at times.

You're gonna love it, and yeah discs are much more preferable with this game, as the download size is almost 100 GB's. It even needs two discs to fully install.

Went with the download because it would preload it and then I could play at midnight eastern. I’ve never sold back a R* game, so that wasn’t a concern.

GameStops have been doing 9PM early releases for big titles in an effort to bring back foot traffic, I was installed and playing by like 10:45.

I jumped in today. Got about an hour in. Just finished first part I think, am now supposed to go talk to individual gang members.

How long is the tutorial? I hear it's several hours, but that's pretty vague.

When the War on Libs escalates and they ratchet up Net Neutrality some more you’ll want those discs!

You're in the mining camp for a couple of hours or so. I consider the first few hours in Valentine tutorial as well and I'm not done there yet. So 6+ hours. Until all major gameplay mechanics are introduced...tutorial.

Inside the health and stamina circles for your horse (right-most above the mini map) you'll see a little heart in one and a lightning bolt in the other. Those should be filled solid white, if they are not, your horse needs food and will lose health and stamina at an increased rate.

got to the first town you visit, shaved.

Then got a side quest. I read a tip that the white question mark side quests can disappear if you don't do them soon so I jumped on that right away. Got the side quest with the writer who wants you to track down some legendary gun fighters and take their picture.

The menu's are pretty confusing so far. There's no simple menu where you can look up the different controls for the game. You can find them buried in some menu, but they're all bunched together and it's not easy to find the command you are looking for. I wish they had a move list like Spider-Man and GOW.

You have to pay close attention to the top left hints...because it pops up usually during important story dialogue, and then it is gone forever. I definitely had to Google 'how to do x' a few times.
