I don't think his blocking has progressed enough to supplant Simms just yet. Next year will be the time where teams will have to defend both TE when two are in the game.

Simms has been supplanted by Sowell in some situations.

He was signed for his catching and blocking ability. He's stealing a chunk of money. No Bears player that I dislike more than him.

Heard Hub say he saw Shaheen at Halas Hall a couple of weeks ago on a cast ans using one of those leg scooters to get around.

Wouldn't that mean that he is weeks away from returning because he'll need to strengthen a leg that lost a lot of muscle and get in game shape?

The best part is that Sims is now on IR. Shaheen doesn't have to actually do anything beyond block for FG/PAT to be more useful.
