Good win against a young below average opponent. Romo put it best when he commented on the jets being a year behind where the Bears are right now.

Another slow start and strong finish by (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky -that’s youth and inexperience imo. He’ll get better and show more consistency the more games he gets under his belt. The inaccuracy is the only thing that’s still bothering me with him but I think that too will come around.. I file that under the ‘consistency’ label which I think will improve with time.

Strong defensive play today without the teams best player in Mack out there. These are good W’s to stack when you can get them. Not a game the Bears has to bust their ass in to win, but not a win you want to take for granted either -this restores some confidence (especially doing it without Mack). Hopefully this starts gaining some momentum like we had before the bye.

Sucks to lose Long, that looked like a season ending injury the way he cane off the field. But it’s gotta be next man up, so we’ll see how the line adapts going forward. I think Pace targeted a guy like Daniels in the draft knowing something like this was possible.

More importantly, they let Robinson and Mack get R&R so they are hopefully ready for the Lions.

So Daniels will stay at LG and Kush and the guy that came in for Long will cover RG?

Also.. whike it’s nice to see (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky succeed on his runs, that has to start becoming less of a trend. He’s going to get hurt at some point running as much as he does. Would like to see him getting his eyes downfield more after getting away from the pass rush and looking for receivers rather tucking it and running so often.

No.. just meant it was important to target line talent high in the draft this year instead of going out and relying on free agent cast offs. Imagine not having Daniels, Whitehair, Long and only having Long and Whitehair and then this happens. There’s more talent on this line this year because they drafted Daniels.

This too. Honestly the Bears should have say Mack last week as well but it is what it is.

Defense was bucks-style-SOLID excepting one TD drive where, IIRC, a 15yd late hit on a 3rd and 13 kept them going around midfield. Mitch generally couldn't hit the broad side of a barn today but the offense cobbled together a couple'a TD drives to ultimately win the ballgame, plus there was a pretty decent time-killing drive in the final ~5mins or so (IIRC the jets got the ball back down 14 with ~1:00-1:30 left and I don't think they had any timeouts?)

Leonard Floyd was, uhhhhh, wearing #94 for the bears? Idk. I personally didn't notice him in the second half.

Watching the Rams game today and it is so blatantly obvious how biased the refs are toward GB and Rodgers. There were at least six obvious offensive holding penalties not called against Green Bay thus far. A couple of them were not only offensive holding but the Packer guy literally had ahold of the defenders face mask. This shit has gone on for years and the only reason why Green Bay even sniffs the play-offs every year.

Refs ignored a horse collar tackle against Clay Matthews just now. One set of rules of Green Bay. Another set for the rest of the league.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky played a good game over-all. These receivers need to do better getting open on the deep routes especially. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky made a lot of very good throws in this game, threading the needle into tight windows. Did he miss some passes? Yep. But he did play pretty well.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky had the same type of game as he did the last few weeks. Look really good initially on the scripted plays then craters and right when you're about to sour on him he starts moving the ball and hits some gorgeous throws.

The Bears are not a good deep ball team. Their best deep threat reciever is a midget and the rest of the pass catchers don't instill a ton of confidence going long. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky can't hit anyone anyways. Oh well, when you're playing home games at Soldier there aren't many days from now on where throwing the ball long is that great.

The majority of his runs are intelligently executed, though. It’s not exactly a Deshaun Watson production where he’s getting pulverized and then coughing up blood on the field.

You always hear the parallels between Mitch and Goff, but that only applies to career trek. The latter looks like he’s moving in slow motion - no fucking mobility whatsoever, but his passes are pinpoint.

Mitch is a very dangerous man when he’s on the move. We just have to hope that he can cut down on the high passes.

The funny thing is that Mitch is already a fantasy superstar, outscoring guys Tom Brady and what not.

I think he's been doing a better job of looking down the field and keeping his eyes up. He stepped up in the pocket and found Miller in the 4th. Quarterbacks aren't taking the hits they used to so the scrambling doesn't worry me. Accuracy is the biggest issue and it's frustrating at times.

Right, that’s kind of my point. He’s outscoring damn near everybody, but when you watch the games, he’s airmailing the ball like half the time.

You can't tell me Mitch is just incapable of being accurate after watching some of the crazy throws he just nails. His deep ball sucks and he loves to sail guys in the flat, but then he'll rifle some intermediate pass in a tight window and you can't help but believe he'll figure it out. The guy is one hell of an athlete too and I love that he's stsy in bounds and forcing defenders to bring him down. He's 6'3 and what looks like a healthy 230-235, it's not easy for DB's to wrestle him down. There will come a time in his career when he should look to avoid absorbing punishment but that time isn't now.

Very nice play by the entire secondary in that game. It is evolving into a good one. Callahan deserves special mention for his play. He was all over the field making plays.

That should have been a shutout, even without Mack. Sure, it speaks to the quality of the Jets offense, but the Bears D is stacked with pro bowl caliber players. That interior of Hicks/Goldman/Nichols is scary good.
