The only people that think Young is comparable to (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky in anything other than the position they play are people really too young to have seen Young you know, actually play the game before his last couple of years. Or don't appreciate that today's numbers are the byproduct of hamstrung defenses.

I watched Young when he played with the Bucs and up. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky definitely has moments that remind me of him. His escapability being one of the main things.

Being as good as Young is a different story, but there are similarities. I’m not sure why you’d argue against that -maybe you didn’t watch Young play.

I've been watching Young play since BYU. What he was was free wheeling, but he always had better mechanics, accuracy and was a far, far smarter player than Mitchell. He had nothing around him in Tampa, and near universal scorn from the football elite for playing too "wide open", just like Warren Moon had been.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is simply proving to be generally inexperienced and possibly even a little slow witted on the field. Making any comparison to a HOF player ridiculous at this stage.

Comparing them in terms of actual accomplishments is ridiculous -watching him escape pressure and make a play and saying he does things at times that reminds one of this guy or that guy in that instance is not.

We need to establish what’s being argued on those terms exactly. Because I’ve seen Mitch make individual plays that are reminiscent of plays Steve Young would/could make.

Of course I’m not comparing Mitch in his actual accomplishments with a guy like Young.

I stopped being a Bears fan in 87, in favor of the Saints. Fortunately they recognized the mistake of Ditka soon enough for me to not sour completely on the NFL.

Old quarterbacks play longer now. There aren't 10 young quarterbacks who are better and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is still raw. Would you rather have Winston? Of course not. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has top 10 production this year despite being raw and wildly inconsistent.

Popularity with fans can get them into a Pro Bowl as much as ones play. McNabb earned his 1st Pro Bowl completing less than 60% of his passes and a 77 QB rating. Mitch could finish his 2nd season and completely eclipse those numbers McNabb put up in his 2nd season and not make the Pro Bowl. Not sure this is the best way to approach any comparison between the 2 tbh.

Unlike Mr. Mayfield, Lorraine was born and raised within walking distance of her mural. Why Mr. Mayfield doesn't have one nearby, I don't know. He didn't live far away when I was a kid.

But if I heard it right, he may be on one nearby 43rd and Vincennes . Or is planned to be.
