Latest ratings show 670 holding it's own while ESPN slips a bit. One wonders how long they'll continue to stick with their current line-up and how much the Carm/Jurko show hurts Waddle/Silvy's rating as a lead-in. No ESPN shows were listed in the top 10 of the below time slots.

Here are Chicago’s top 30 radio stations from 6 a.m. to midnight Monday through Sunday, as measured by Nielsen Audio in October, followed by format and average quarter-hour share of listeners age 6 and older (with September share in parentheses):

6. WSCR 670-AM sports talk, 4.2 (4.3)

25. WMVP 1000-AM sports talk, 1.4 (1.2)

Here are Chicago radio’s top 10 morning shows from 6 to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday, as measured by Nielsen Audio in October:

6. WSCR 670-AM Mike Mulligan and David Haugh

Here are Chicago radio’s top 10 midday shows from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, as measured by Nielsen Audio in October:

9. WSCR 670-AM Dan Bernstein and Connor McKnight

Here are Chicago radio’s top 10 afternoon shows from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, as measured by Nielsen Audio in October:

10. (tie) WXRT 93.1-FM Richard Milne; WSCR 670-AM Dan McNeil and Danny Parkins; WKSC 103.5-FM Brady Broski

Here are Chicago radio’s top 10 evening shows from 7 p.m. to midnight Monday through Friday, as measured by Nielsen Audio in October:

1. WSCR 670-AM Laurence Holmes; Julie DiCaro; Chicago Cubs baseball

Looks like a big Jocktober (well, first ten days of it) bump for the Score with the Cubs in a down-to-the-wire race and the Bears not crappy. I think this is the first time all three dayparts have made top ten for the Score. It's the first time I recall seeing Mac and Parkins make the cut. And let's hear it for Julie DiCaro being #1 in evenings.

Meanwhile, 1000 is still wasting away, but because they have to punt morning drive, you wonder how good it can ever really get for them.

I don't know if that's true for other folks around here, but I have WSCR on all day long now. The station is doing a better job of being entertaining without the constant focus on social issues.

Isn't it shocking that the ratings improve when a sports talk radio station sticks to sports? It's almost as if breaking up the Bernstein and Goff show worked.

Yup. Launching Goff and Spiegel seems to have been the right choice.

Have they really improved or has MVP dropped? I am a little confused I thought a recent post had Mac and Parkins not much better than usual ratings for the afternoon? I would have assumed an improvement over B&G.

The next book will be more telling with no Cubs play-by-play included, this one ran 9/13-10/10 and those were some big games. Could be that there was enough play-by-play and Bears talk that even if they had talked too much social justice, they could have gotten away with it.

The evening fall will be fun to follow since Cubs baseball carried that. I guess Julie won't be #1 in her part time spot

Does that really have the pull the Cubs would have on radio?

If Bulls radio justified its cost, the Score wouldn't have gotten them in the first place.

Bulls basketball pulls me into a fit of rage anytime I hear it.

ESPN really has to do something about Carmen and Jurko. I like those guys but the show is boring AF. Carm just doesn't move the needle for me and Jurko is only engaged 50% of the time. I don't know who you put in that shift but they need to end it ASAP.
