Mitch did not look that good. Nice win against a JV offense. The D is not going to score 14 very often.

The offense put up 27 points.

And Howard had 47 yards on 14 rushes.

That's a product of the awful play calling. He had 9 of those rushes in the 1st half. I have no doubt when this team faulters, alot of it will because of Nagy's bad play calling. We have already seen it in loses this season.

Yep. Lets not forget how bad this team was last year. This team while not perfect is a breath of fresh air. 5-3. Could easily be better, but this team is enjoyable to watch and competitive. What more could a fan want after the last few years?

I'm guessing most of the Bills players had that feeling when the game started, knowing who was playing QB for them.

We’d all love this franchise to be the Patriots. But they haven’t had a HOF QB in my lifetime, and they have had maybe one or two decent coaches. The franchise has been good at getting running backs and linebackers and not much else. At this point, just being competitive is fun. They have been in every game this year. I am excited simply because they have been a trash franchise for most of my life.

Championship teams do not lose to the Dolphins. Championship teams do not blow a 20-0 lead against their division rivals. Yes, I am optimistic. The Bears were supposed to win this game and they did. Awesome.

This team is fun to watch and is competitive. Agreed. That's quite a low bar.

I'm a Bears fan who has been beaten into submission by years of bad football so excuse me for not waving the poms poms. I have hope for the future but I'm not going to jump up and down over a victory over a much lesser opponent.

All teams do those things. This is a team that's growing.

I'm sure there are jaded Patriot fans saying Championship teams don't lose to the Lions, Vikings fans saying Championship teams don't lose to the Bills, and Saints fans saying Championship teams don't lose to the Bucs, but it happens.

The Dolphins are 5-4. It's not like they are the Browns or Raiders. Should they have won yes, but come on.

Or the Bills. The Bears destroyed a Bills team that beat the Vikings on the road and gave the Patriots all they could handle with Derek Anderson at QB.

I’m glad they won and it was fun seeing pick 6 and fumble TDs but Mitch didn’t look good again and the play calling was weird. Beat Detroit and I’ll be convinced they are a wild card team. Beat Minny and I’ll be ready to crown their ass.

But seriously, we’ve seen the story of mediocre offense and great defense here. It gets you close but it’s not sustainable because you can’t bank on turnovers and defense TDs. And even worse, this defense is only great with a healthy Mack. I’m glad they’re in first place, I’ll take it halfway thru the season. I’m just not ready to get excited about long term success this season.

Seattle is better than decent.

They didn't just win today, they dominated. The Patriots didn't find the end zone until the 4th quarter Monday nite. The Bears had two offensive TDs in one quarter today.

This team isn't perfect, nor is it a finished product. We've seen enough to know that the train seems to be back on the tracks and definitely heading in the right direction. Even with Tresstman while there was some good on offense, they were giving up 50 points to the Packers and Eagles in back-to-back weeks.

Not to be rude, but I'm convinced MANY of you don't follow the NFL outside of the Bears. The Bills defense is very, very good. They throttled the Patriots last week. Also, I believe on one of those deep PI calls, it would have been a completed pass, making Mitch's numbers look better. They destroyed a bad team on the road. They did what a good team should do.

You're never happy. That has to suck. This offense is averaging 30 points a game and hasn't been shut down by anyone.

I don't know why Bears fans, more than any other team, demand that you jump up and down with excitement over the most mundane accomplishments. The Bears beat a terrible team. Good for them. As with a lot of teams, the Bears are in the middle "blob" of the NFL. Let's hope the offense gets a little more consistent.

Being Cubs fans has destroyed you guys. This probably isn't a Super Bowl team this year, but it appears that, for the first time in probably 15 years, the Bears have gotten MANY things right. I'd rather be optimistic on where this thing might go, than focus on some of the little things that will likely improve as things move along.

If that makes me a meatball, then pass the sauce and the grated parmesan.

That's fair. We probably expect a little too much out of our teams due to the success the Cubs have had.

STFU! No one is asking you to jump up and down. We're asking you to stop bitching every day/week about a team that is in first place and that has exceeded the expectations MANY of you all had before the season in literally every way.

They are 19th in pts per game and their best defender was hurt. They are also a completely different team with J Peterman at QB. This isn’t the team that beat the Vikings.
