I’m just not ready to get excited about long term success this season.

You're never happy. That has to suck. This offense is averaging 30 points a game and hasn't been shut down by anyone.

Did you read my post? I’m enjoying the games. Im just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Prove it against good teams and I’ll be all in. Im not impressed with Nagy/Pace/Mitch yet. They’ve beaten the teams they should and lost to the teams that are good. Why should get my Pom poms out for a team that seems mediocre right now? I’ll enjoy games like today and still look with a wary eye at games against real teams.

Being Cubs fans has destroyed you guys. This probably isn't a Super Bowl team this year, but it appears that, for the first time in probably 15 years, the Bears have gotten MANY things right. I'd rather be optimistic on where this thing might go, than focus on some of the little things that will likely improve as things move along.

If that makes me a meatball, then pass the sauce and the grated parmesan.

15 years? How is this team better than the Lovie teams?

Is this better than Trestman/Fox? Hell fucking yes. I can actually watch the games now.

Awesome that they won today.

Mitch is still a concern. He still can't play a complete game.

They beat the Buccaneers when they were one of the hottest teams in the league and they beat the Seahawks. They've been leading in the 2nd half of every game. Why are you waiting for the shoe to fall for a team MANY didn't expect to win 6 games? This year is an unexpected treat. The real expectations come next season. Enjoy this treat and hope it gets better in the future.

Agreed. I didn’t realize this was an outrageous thought but apparently if you don’t want to fuck Staley on the 50yd line after this win, you’re a shitty fan.

Yes, this is better than Trestman/Fox. How in the name of God could it not be?

I'm optimistic. Things are pointing in the right direction but I'm not sure why any rational Bears fan couldn't understand another Bears fan not being excited about beating a perennial doormat.

I’m like Red in Shawshank. Hope is a dangerous thing in the NFL. I can enjoy an ass kicking like today and still not be sold on the team.

I thought this was one of his better passing games despite the interception. He had great touch on his passes and he moved well in the pocket against a team that has a really good pass rush. The next few weeks will tell us if he's arrived and how he handles pressure. It will be good to watch.

You thought he had good touch?

He missed way too many open receivers again, and more concerning was missing simple 5-10 yard outs.

Also, I’m one of the dopes that said 4-12 (6-10 after the Mack trade). So the fact they are almost there with the Giants and Niners still on the schedule... I’m happy. But I want to hang a fucking banner. I want to plunge a flaming sword into the heart of the 85 Bears and have something for my generation to celebrate instead of old stories and videos of guys comitting what would be personal fouls on every play in this current league.

Literally no one said anyone should be excited. When a team wins by 30 and their surprisingly in first place you would think there would be less griping. It's okay to enjoy this. MANY don't want to.

I do. I think he only missed a couple and they weren't awful. MANY of his completions were impressive based on what he did to complete the passes

His accuracy issues are very concerning. Don’t give me the “he’s devoloping” angle. He misses throws that no elite QB should miss. I hope he and the coaching staff figure it out. The easy throws should be second nature to a future elite QB at this point.

Remember that hit Todd Bell had on Joe Washington in the '84 playoffs? That was awesome.

You guys just want stuff to complain about. They beat the shit out of a crappy team. Again. Which is what good teams do.

They easily could have won every game so far this year and it is just starting.

Much like the '84 Bears.

Well, I'm not saying that exactly. Although Ditka invented the Wildcat formation that year out of necessity.

It's just a process. And I think they are on the right path.

I haven't watched in a long time but can't see how that's possible with the McCaskeys as owners.

It's a win. Beating a bad team doesn't tell much one way or the other. Thankfully there's some Bears hope with the hapless Bulls & Hawks. Lay off Mitch and Nagy. Could be a lot worse. Interesting how Cubs ass kissers are hard on the Bears.
