Just got home and saw Jason on with Joniak and Jim Miller. Good for him.

Is that a regular gig?

He's taller than I expected...or Jim Miller is shorter.

He's all over the place working, for half his score salary (if he's lucky), working twice as hard.

I feel like this has at least three prior threads.

Better than not having a gig at all.

Yes, I was in radio field in college and did internships in late 90s, but got out of field cause I wanted to make money. It's a very very tough job to make money. I don't know what exaclty Fox does, but I believe comcast does Gift cards for being on the show you get to market yourself(Free advertising for you).

The way radio used to be you either made a lot of $$$(.0001) or you made nothing. I remember hearing the Stern numbers before Sirius, Howard obviously got paid unreal $$$ and he should, Robin, Fred, and Gary fine, after that a major drop off.
Now that is a national top of the line.

I assume the top dogs in Chi gross 2-400K a year with all the hustle. Kap might be the most when combined. But I would say someone like a McKnight maybe 120K a year with inflation.

Would love to hear those who work in the business. Total guess now.

Yeah. Good for Goff.

Like Jason would always say, "I got a baby and a lady to feed at the crib." And you know what? That's true.

By the way, Jason ever marry that lady? If not, how long is this engagement? Gotta be going on 4 or 5 years by now.

I'm just glad there's an outlet for all the Goff fanboys. Are they still boycotting the Score?

Yeah. 120k is way high on McKnight. This is his rookie deal for a prime time host. When you have a rookie, they'll take anything just to get the gig because there aren't many out there. I'll say 50k for McDoink. Then he tries to do well and then he can ask for more on the 2nd contract. But no rookie says "No" to a prime radio job. That's why management can get them for whatever they want. Hell, they could offer 30k and you should still take it. Just to get in the door. There are so few of these jobs.

Goff leaves. Middays and afternoon ratings improve. But he kept it real y'all.

The Score's ratings will drop a little next book without destination programming, but I'm guessing they'll still be pretty good with people wanting to consume Bears talk now that the team's not a shit sandwich for the first time in six years. You can probably have just about anyone work these shifts and as long as the Cubs and Bears draw interest it won't matter. Imagine that, it's almost as if all you have to do is not explicitly tell people to listen to the competition.

Yeah. One day technology will advance to where robots can do the sports talking at radio stations. And management will save so much money. You just feed all the sports information into a system and put a voice to it so it can be on the air.

Rookie as far a "Prime time" sports radio. You knew what I meant. I actually made it clear. Update boy, working at the GAME and Sox pre and post isn't prime time. There are only 6 prime time sports radio gigs in Chicago. He got one for the first time. You take whatever offer you get when you are a rookie.

Goff had one and his cocky ass fucked it up. Bernstein has had one for 15+ years and is now on his best behavior because his new boss doesn't like what he used to be. Bernstein is all about survival. And I don't blame him. Do this bullshit sports talking for 4 hours a day and make 6 figures? I'd to whatever the boss man wants as well.

By the way, when I first saw this thread, I thought it was about Goff banging a fox. You know, the animal. That would have been a better thread if it were true.
