Bernstein must be real happy being forced to talk hockey today.

Awwwww Jeez... I love coach Q and that was a great 10 years. I think maybe the end of the year or next year would have be okay. I don't know anything about the colliton but I'm pretty sure he's not going to be as good. Bowman should have been gone first. I think we are going to see some disinterested hockey players and more games like the last few years. Depressing because they had a little bit of giddy up going that I haven't seen in a while.

Seemed like there was a lot of friction between Q and the front office. Bowman acquired some bad players, regardless of system, and Q also misused some players Bowman acquired.

Kempeny was Q's fault.
Seabrook still being on the team at that salary is Bowman's fault.
Not finding a legit, faceoff-winning #2C is Bowman's fault.
Lack of cohension in the lines is Q's fault.

This is Bowman's last chance; if Colliton can't spark some life into this team this year and next, Bowman is gone. Let's give Colliton a chance and see if he brings a system that mirrors today's NHL. Relying less on Keith and Seabrook on special teams and giving young players a chance to succeed is apparently what Colliton brings to the team.

Lack of cohension in the lines is Bowman's fault. 3 defenseman more or less carried those cup teams. We had star offensive players with people that filled in well and contributed especially on the '10 and 13' years. Bowman is responsible for the last few years and it's been shit. Say what you want about Q not playing younger players but most of the younger players we've moved haven't done much anywhere else and the ones that have done some thing were moved because of cost which is also Bowman's fault.

How’d you like to be this Colliton dude walking into the room for the first time to address the players following Q’s legacy ? Good luck commanding that room.

And he just corrected a caller for saying Joe instead of Joel Quenville. D-dag.

That is cool, and I am still glad he is gone. If sets in motion a major shake up of the front office, then I am fine with that too. This season was trending like last, and a lot of things needed to change.

He should probably be fired just for bringing Saad back.

Combine that with the Hammer trade. That one really hurt.

When you have guys like Kane and Toews, it's obviously a tough decision to move future Hall of Famers/Faces of the Franchise. But to avoid the spot they're in now, the smart thing probably would have been to trade one of those guys (probably Toews) some time after the second Cup. You may not have won the third one, but you'd undoubtedly be in much better shape right now. I can understand why they didn't go that route though.

Also, committing so much money to a goalie is a very un-Bowmanlike thing to do. This is no knock on Crawford. He's an elite goalie. But the (Scottie) Bowman philosophy has always been that an elite goalie isn't the place you want to bury your money in a salary cap situation.

Wait ... trade winning a Stanley Cup to maybe win one later?

 I get that it's not that easy, but after winning two in three years it's not like this is the Cubs after 108 seasons we're talking about. They're going to be down for a long time now.

No idea what the Cubs have to do with anything.

Really? I would say if you haven't won a Cup (or a World Series) in 50 or 100 years your approach probably should be a little different than if you've been dominant for 7-8 seasons with a couple championships. And unlike the Cubs the Blackhawks can ill afford an extended period of irrelevance like the one they're facing right now.

That's fine, but you may well have been able to win another one without Toews anyway and you would have set yourself up for another good long run.

Realistically, when do you think they can be a legit Cup contender again?

When you can unload the Seabrook contract.

Well, that's a little silly, but if you're correct I'm not sure how you could argue that the last Cup was worth it.

Well, I expect to be dead by 40 by way of suicide, plane crash, or hidden undiagnosed malady, so they could be back on top in about ten years give or take.

McCub starting the conference. Asshole should be dropped from the top of the new atrium.

Fucking Lispy would have 0 rings without Dale Tallon. That is the real architect of the dynasty, not the fucking member of the lucky sperm club.

There was no one architect. Even Mike Smith had a role in this.
