If I understand the system properly, masks are virtually useless when committing crimes, especially big crimes like robbery or murder. If a witness sees you committing a crime with a mask on, and successfully reports the crime, Arthur Morgan is wanted, not "guy in mask". Unless those whole-face masks you can buy from fences do something more, there's virtually no point to wearing a mask when you rob a store or train, you just have to figure paying off your bounty into how much you expect to take away from the heist.

After 15 hours of gameplay I realized I have the camp glitch where some characters never appear and now I have to start the game all over. Man, am I pissed.

There are Klan meetings in the woods in random locations in the woods at night. When you happen upon one, instead of going in guns blazing, just sneak up and watch one all the way through until the ending.

Played a bunch over the weekend. Still not really sure what I'm doing a lot of the time. In chapter 2 and basically just doing story and side missions. Haven't done any free roaming, hunting. Haven't learned to fish yet. Screwed up the gold bar exploit so only got 1, but that's probably a good thing as I like the element of trying to make the money you need as opposed to having unlimited funds.


How are you guys playing? Doing missions or just roaming around getting into trouble?

Have you tried robbing people and places? I'm scared to do it cause what's the point if you're just gonna end up with a bounty that's bigger than the proceeds from the robbery?

I generally like open-ended games where you can do whatever, but I'm struggling a bit with the lack of structure on this game. I am just riding around causing trouble, but it's hard to kill people without being arrested, as you mention, and I'm not really sure what my ultimate purpose is right now. Are we ever leaving chapter 2?

I also accidentally stumbled into Blackwater and got destroyed, plus my horse died. So my saddle is in Blackwood with all my weapons and I have some horse that looks like the one JORR made me bet on at Arlington racetrack.

I think it's Jack that teaches you fishing but if you have the camp glitch like I did then he won't appear. I wouldn't be surprised if some of you have the glitch but don't even notice. I had to start all over to avoid it and now I'm all good.

Anyways, there is an annoying feminist npc in the game and videos were going viral of people killing her in creative ways. Well a bunch of feminists complained and YouTube took all the videos down and even banned one guys' account for "promoting violence".

Even if you had the glitch (I did) the main story missions involving missing characters still happen. You still learn to fish in Chapter 2 with Jack and go to the store with Sadie in Chapter 3.

The game actually does a good job with the story as it really snowballs by the end. You don’t really feel any pressure or motivation in chapters 2-3 to move the story along and it’s more fun to explore, but by 5-6 you really do want to do the next mission immediately.

Last night tried to rob a train, it did not go well. Robbed a horse carriage instead and picked up a $7.50 bounty, but sold the carriage for $40 so profit!

I got to the beginning of Chapter 3 in my first playthrough before I restart to fix the missing people in camp bug. Now I'll soon be done with Chapter 2.
