Where can you access general details online for Cook County felony cases? Only website I can find directs user to civil cases. I've tried cook county and sheriff's department. Sheriff's department will tell you who's locked up, but the why and any basic information is not included. Suggestions are appreciated.

Try a local clerk's office. It's been awhile, but that was the extent of it afaik.

So you have to go in person to get the info then? Seems plausible as I can't find a link. It's surprising because most counties will provide some general detail on what is accused.

Looks like that is just for federal stuff?

Quote:
Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) is an electronic public access service that allows users to obtain case and docket information online from federal appellate, district, and bankruptcy courts, and the PACER Case Locator. PACER is provided by the Federal Judiciary in keeping with its commitment to providing public access to court information via a centralized service.

Another example of Illinois being behind. By comparison Wisconsin makes it very easy to look up cases. https://wcca.wicourts.gov/case.html

Sad.

Try walking into the courthouse and go to the clerk’s office where the case was closed?

I know being alone during the holidays can be rough, but you can't be that desperate, right?

Most counties these days have a website with access but it is varying about what you need to know or do to get results.

Desperation comes in many forms. The missus has a hairdresser friend. He/she a guy/gal...buys drinks. Anyhoo, he/she got pinched a while back and can't tell why. Time required before trial, and potential sentence could vary if guns, drugs, punching a cop. Can't tell what the hell is going on. The missus just needs the hair done before the holidays. Could be a rough couple a months if the new stylist screws things up.
