Don't recall this happening too often. Should be ok. Will anyone bring up whatever that Bernsie retweet thing was?

What was the retweet about?

No.

I do wonder if what often happened in transition between them with happen today -- Speigel challenges Bernstein, Bernstein dismisses his points as silly, and Speigel gets more and more frustrated and flustered.

Something about Colbert and some other guy regarding Tucker Carlson and how it was right to go at his family at home.

I have been a huge critic of meatpants. But kudos to him for being a professional and taking the opportunities that are available to him and not being a whiney bitch like Goff

Yep

And kinda-sorta giving Bernstein the business in a (seemingly) friendly way.

I hope Mac calls Spiegs a part timer during transition.

I figure one of them will do something to antagonize Speigel, intentional or otherwise.

This is the best the Berstein and McKnight show has sounded since it began.

Problem is, Goff seems to be piecing together a nice little niche with local tv and Sirius radio.

That may be a better role for him. Things like Big 10 keep him from wandering, which is his greatest weakness. Plus Anthony Herron is a really good analyst and so he'll keep things in line.

BTW, Big 10 is on an XM channel (372) that my 5.5 year old car can't find.

Amen to that. The one thing I was hoping for that I didn't get was some discussion of the thinly veiled shot at Bernstein that Spiegel took on that clearing the air social media post he made shortly after being sidelined last spring.

I was only able to listen to about an hour. What I heard was far better than anything I’ve heard from Berns and Mcnight. Spiegs can be good and I’m glad he’s embracing his ‘part time’ role. I’ve always liked him when he’s engaged. He’s been engaged every time I’ve heard him since his demotion. I like it.

Didn't hear any of it.

But I've caught McDoink here and there. There is a nothingness to him.

Not funny. No interesting stories. Just nothing from him. He's just a generic guy on the radio. Zero personality.

Spiegel is more interesting and funnny. And so is Bernstein.

But this McDoink hire, I don't get it. Goff is better then him. Because Goff's stupidity and anger made him funny.

McDoink has nothing interesting going on in his life. And he's not funny.

Like I've said, if radio stations got a programmed voice to do the sports talking, it would sound like McDoink. So Mitch and the SCORE could save the 60k per year.

Goff isn't better than McKnight. McKnight is bad, but not that bad.

Yep

Agree 100%. Matt has progressed past the initial sting wonderfully.

Sure, he had a couple of remarks pop out blowing off steam... however, we're all human and it was understandable. To his credit, he was able to reel it back in way before it got past the point of no return.

He knows that he will always be teased about the "dinosaur" remarks and seems to be taking it in stride.

He is doing very well and thriving with his genuine love for baseball.

I look forward to his Saturday morning baseball talk with Bruce Levine.

Friday was a delightful listen. No inflections, no fake amazement, no ramblings that went nowhere, no stabs at humor that fell off a cliff. If I was Connor, I wouldn't take days off, sick days, or vacation because the contrast is STARK when a personality takes his place.

Agreed. After catching up with most of Friday's show, it was dramatically better than Bernstein and McKnight. The non-sports discussion was more interesting and funny than the normal ramblings which I usually FF through. That has to obvious to DeCastro.

I think Dan can be funny at times when it just happens. When he tries hard to be silly it just doesnt work. Unfortunately he has to try hard because his partner is so damn uninteresting. It was the same way with Goff and the show became an unlistenable giggle fest. Friday was the best that the show and Dan have sounded in a long long time. I know that Matt and Dan have had issues in the past but that show just seemed to work on Friday. Today is back to nothingness even after a bid Bears win.
