He's been more productive in his past 6 games than most quarterbacks have been all season. His 19 touchdowns (17 passing and 2 rushing) is even better than what Aaron Rodgers has done all season and would be on pace with what Mahomes is doing.

Both. At least FF has an excuse because he's a Packers fan.

The o/u for touchdowns for (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky coming into the season was 19. He has 22 so far.

What about that tweet was “dug in?” Its further evidence of what I said - that he’s looking at Mitch objectively unlike posters on this board, myself included.

For starters there was absolutely no data to back up his subjective statement. He couldn't even give (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky credit for a good game against what was a top 5 passing defense and what is still a top 10 passing defense. Somehow it was because 1 person in the secondary was missing.

I find Mitch's progression very satisfying.

Barnwell can't have it both ways. Allen Robinson missed two games and Kyle Long has been out, but that doesn't get a mention. The Lions are down a defensive back, and suddenly that is one of the reason's (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky played well yesterday. Barnwell is absolutely dug in on a very poor thought.

It was clearly making excuses as to why (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was playing as well as he was.

It was adding context. It’s hilarious that you guys take that as dug in.

Like dolphin said, they beat up the shitty teams and that’s all you can ask for. I’m guessing if he plays well this week against Minny he’ll get the appropriate praise.

His season stats are just like Blake Bortles! He throws for 350 yards and 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. The Lions defense sucks!

However, if he plays well against the Vikings then we can say he is playing well.

There was no context for his original comment so don't pretend that matters. Frank's statement was accurate too.

Before yesterday the Lions were only giving up 213 passing yards a game and they were stingier on the road. That was good for 4th in the league overall and 1st on the road. They're still 8th and 4th after yesterday.

They schemed to force (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky to beat them and he carved their ass up to the point they were fighting on the field.

Because those two being out didn’t affect his specific criticisms of Mitch.

If you think he has a narrative that he’s just sticking to regardless of the data presented you’re an idiot. You can say he’s wrong or you think he came to the wrong conclusion but this idea that he just doesn’t like Mitch and the Bears is as wildly stupid as the biggest meatball radio caller.

These stat phaggots like PFF and Barnwell should never opine on football. Ever.

I didn't say he doesn't like Mitch or the Bears.

I'm saying it is funny that he compared him to Blake Bortles, and then when Mitch has a great game he says he played well but then gives two reasons why him playing well isn't that impressive.

They have the third worst pass defense dvoa. This is why looking at counting stats is going to lead you to some very poor conclusions, like Detroit having a top pass defense.

Advanced stats matter to you only when they fit your narrative. Sad! You and Bill were wrong about (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky so far.

I don’t think it’s getting much outside of some looney tune Bear fans.

You wanted to used counting stats when comparing (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky and Rodgers this season. WYC? Don't crap me!

Why you gotta lie? I said TD/INT and y/a are the best to use, neither are counting stats.

The Bears best WR and best OLineman being out doesn't affect the quarterback? Please explain.

You didn't want to use QBR or any other modern stats. Also, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has a better y/a than Rodgers too. TD/INT isn't meaningless, but we both know that Rodgers is afraid to take risks and loves his interception stat more than anything. Only Brees' may be better.

I already have my answer of you being biased FF, and Barnwell being dug in on his position.

I'm just wondering why one injury on the Lions defense is the reason that-- according to Barnwell-- that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky played well, but having his best OLineman and WR out with injuries had no affect on his play.

Barnwell also is the guy who just posts random bad throws by (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky so I would be shocked if suddenly he thinks he is great.
