Butler was also on Parkins & McNeil. Said he used to kick at Soldiers Field every Thursday back in they day. Players loved it because he brought Hooters back to Halas Hall afterwards.

Why the hell is he not cut?

Get the best 10 college kickers that didn't get drafted to Halas Hall and have a try out. Have them all take 100 kicks from 45 yards. Whoever makes the most is the Bears new kicker. It's that simple. They have no other choice. Can't keep this guy.

Gould was picked up this time of year. Same with Paul Edinger IIRC. There is likely a future pro bowl player on the streets.

I understand. But say he misses 3 next week. Still can't cut him cuz of the 9 million? Then he misses 3 the following week? Still can't cut him cuz of the money. At some point you have to eat it and take the cap hit. Because it could cost you the playoffs.

And the new guy you bring in will be league minimum anyway. Like I said, he'll be a college guy that didn't make an NFL team after this past draft.

He cost us a few games, I didn't haven't a problem with launching him. He also was a big mouth, I heard Kreutz say he once grabbed a kicker by his throat and reminded him to stfu.. I'd guarentee it was gould, he had an opinion on everything. Kickers should never speak.
