No I still think he's the best. I'm open to the idea that Beckham or Hopkins are passing him this year but I need to see it. They aren't proving they are right now.

I think you're smartly backtracking on Thielen being better.

Thielen and Brown are in the same tier. Arguments could be made either way.

They cannot. There isn't a single thing Thielen does better. He's Antonio Brown Lite between the 20's and they are obviously not comparable inside the redzone.

The thing that James does not have is the top end like Bell. Can't break away enough. He was same at Pitt. Gonna stay that way. Love the kid but Bell is superior.

Unless Bell forgot how to play football there is no comparison.

Sure there is. To this point, Conner has been remarkably similar to Bell.

To this point changes that entire statement. Also they haven't been close in the passing game when it comes to receiving and pass protection.

Conner with another 150 plus yards from scrimmage. Steelers 5-2-1. Keep holding out moron.

Still a smart business decision. Even better because Conner has been good. He won't play much or at all this year and he'll get a big contract in the offseason.

Could the argument now be made it is more about the Steelers OL than who is in the backfield?

No. This isn't the 90's Cowboys.

That seems to be the argument for any running back regardless and that is why they don't get big contracts for how good they are.

Le'veon Bell will officially sit the rest of the season.

Steelers don't look to have missed a beat since with Conner.

Held onto him all season for Fantasy thinking he would come back and be fresh the second half of the season. What a dope. Not sure if I am talking about him or me now. :eye:

Going to be enjoyable watching some team overpay for him or even better , sign him for less than the Steelers offer and watch him bust out of the league in 2 years .

It's a real a shame he'll only have those millions of dollars to fall back on. Perhaps some thirsty ho will #metoo him out of the money he's already earned. We can only hope.

I don't care what some of you have already claimed to be right about in this matter. It is simply dumb and ill advised. No matter how much he thinks he gets next year he never gets this year's money.

You also only get so many chances to go for a Super Bowl in your prime playing for a good team. Dumb.

I dont think he made the right move, but what your saying doesn't really make sense. He could have had a career ending injury on his first carry this season and only get this years money. He'll definitely get more in guaranteed money than he was slated to make for this one year.

I’m guessing whatever insurance policy he had dealing with a career ending injury on his first carry was more than what he was slated to make this year as well.

I suppose. Depends on the signing bonus if any. Also, he will have to find a loophole to get away from the Steelers.

I dont know about that. I think they are usually a little smaller, but either way, he'll almost certainly make more in his next deal than he would have just this season.

mike moustakas figured this out last year, when he declined that offer from the Royals. He lost something like $12mill. Folks, the grass is rarely ever greener.

Even if you are absolutely correct he still missed an earning year and 15M or whatever. Whatever though it is his life and he has an agent to guide him.

The signing bonus is the guaranteed money. If it's less than 30 million guaranteed (probably will be) it was a bad decision by Bell. If it's more than that it was a good decision.

There's no loophole he needs to get away from Pitt. They aren't signing him to a QB franchise tag next season.
