Not even the nerds who go there.

Maybe Parko can ask Fitzee why they could not fill the student section when ND played them a couple of weeks ago and why they have to bribe students with free transportation and tickets for the Big10 Championship game 12/1.

Doubt Mac or Parko will ask Fitzee tough questions as NU spends so much on ads on the station, which appear to do ZERO good as more fans of the road teams attend the NU "home" games.

I care as well.

You are not doing your job as a Chicago sports talker to not talk about Northwestern making it to the big ten title game for the first time. I'm not under any delusions about the quality of the team but it is still a story that deserves air time

Except for the Bears and Cubs, you could say "nobody gives a fuck about _______" and be accurate.

We didn't take calls on Northwestern. We didn't break down keys to the Minnesota game. We talked to their head coach, a local-boy-made-good who also captained the most historic team in school history.

The Bulls are tanking.

The Blackhawks are vanishing like a fart in the wind (happy birthday Warden Norton, BTW).

Movies.

Music.

Gambling.

Food.

Relationships.

You could say a low percentage of our potential audience covets these topics. Therefore, we'll do all of it and attempt to entertain and do so sans apology.

I don't dread late January, February and the tedious nature of spring training, 2019. It's also Oscars season and I will watch every Best Picture nominee before the awards.

All are welcome to listen. Or not.

Mac, listened to the movie game trivia you guys did yesterday. I give it an "A" for effort, but it was a hard listen. I would suggest you reverse it and let the callers come up with the movie quotes to ask you guys. I think that would be more entertaining.

Show is still light years better then Bernstein and Goff.

Be sure to include 'A Star is Born' into your viewing. It's kind of sappy, but the acting is superp and the cinematography is nothing short of outstanding. The music is also very well done and quite enjoyable actually.

You undoubtedly don't take calls because no one actually cares about NU football or basketball despite all the media blow jobs they get from NU alums in the media.

The fact is there are more opposing team fans at their home games than NU fans. That the student section was not full against ND was even mentioned on the broadcast that evening. It is also a fact that NU is offering student lis free tickets and transportation to the Big10. The rich fuck students cant be bothered to go to Indy, apparently. You could ask Fritzee why the students don't support the program, but why agitate a sponsor? Instead you guys just slobber over a coach who can't beat MAC teams or Duke. Its awesome that that NU is the tallest midget in the Big10 West. Great story that no one cares about.

I listened as well but I love the segments that tank. They realized it was tanking as they played and made fun of it themselves. It was better than talking about any sports going on right now outside of the Bears but cant do 5 hours of Bears each day. Keep entertaining. Light years ahead of anything with Haugh and anything with McKnight.

NU student population and alumni base is a fraction of that of the rest of the big ten. Northwestern is also the only private school so while the rest of the big ten has a student population that was born and bred to love their state school's program, Northwestern students are new to their affiliation. Also, I imagine that Chicago is the #1 landing spot for graduates of each of the big ten schools (except for Michigan and the new east coast members) while New York is probably #1 for NU grads.

That said, you are correct. NU students have tepid interest as does the Chicago community but there is SOME interest and it is worthy of discussion

NIU can't draw flies either and they're pretty much always good at football.

Football kinda sucks to watch in person.

Mac, you guys don't field a whole lot of calls. I've given up. It's probably for the best. But I still want to do a bowling outing.

Football is great in person. In fact, I went to two games last week in freezing temperatures and had a great time. It is great to be part of a Bears crowd when they are good and the joy of watching is unmatched by watching on tv, even with friends.

I always appreciate Peter Puck. Wish he posted here more. However, I'm still an NU football fan. They've had a couple really good teams in the past 23 years and have played some memorable games. It was amazing how many non-college football fans--people who would never watch a Saturday game--became NU fans in '95 and '96. It tells me they could do it again

Basketball: Collins is a d-bag. NU hoops is so overblown.

While they were building Xanadu, Loyola went to the Final Four.

I didn't know wanting to be see the year's best film nominees was a gender thing.

Peter Puck, we talked to Fitz about not being able to beat the Akrons and the Wakes. I think you just want to be pissed off.

When I say "PTFB," I say it without tone. I mean it in the nicest way, an invitation of sorts... not a directive. We serve many flavors and don't expect anybody to want all of 'em.
