Ladd used to have such a great dining scene. Lanuti's, Cancun, the ice cream place. Riptails's or whatever that is diagonal from Rip's has good food.

I think it’s soft tails but my memory might be off. Been a while since I’ve headed over to Ladd.

I miss Lanuti's. Not sure but I think it's still for sale. My guy tells me you can probably buy the place cheap but it will cost you plenty bringing the building up to code. Apparently, there were MANY things not right there for years but the place was grandfathered in decades ago.

You guys ever get to Spring Valley and hit Verucchi's? That's good food and the place is over 100 years old. My faves... calamari, family style chicken, ravioli and manicotti

Lanuti's was the first bar that ever served me as an underage person.

Rip's never would. There would be younger kids than us sitting at a table next to us in high school letterman jackets with their graduation year on it getting served and they still wouldn't get us a beer.

One of those kids must have had some pull, Doc. Maybe their mom or dad was a somebody or knew a somebody?..

You ever hear of Hondu's down here back in the day? That's where we got our "supplies".

We went to Lanuti’s for my college graduation dinner. My dad loved that place. Sucks it closed.

Everybody got served at Rip's. We were the exception. It was like a conscious effort to keep us out of trouble.

Don't know Hondu's. I used to really like Bogart's in Dalzell but we didn't get there often.

Verruchi's is damn good. Gunsmoke Grill in nearby Cedar Point has great food.

Go check out Stone Jug BBQ. I haven't been there but heard good things.

Also, the family who owns it is a friend of Dr. Ken.

"A friend of Dr. Ken" sounds like some kind of an addiction thing. BBQ addiction.

I didn't know it had a name. It was just the place to grab a six-pack to drink while you waited in line outside Rip's (before the remodel).

I didn't even know they served food.

If you like the Verucchi’s chicken, next time you are there order it the old way, or old style.

I always laugh when we go home that Mrs. Dr. Ken reminds me when we get "family-style raviola", it's always a huge bowl of tortellini.

I thought tortellini was ravioli until I was about 20 years-old.
