Boers is supposed to be on with them today. I think they said at 5:20? Can anyone confirm the time?

I was only half-listening at the time, but Mac said something about Silvy early in the show today. Something like "If you tune in to that show you'll wonder how Silvy gets dressed in the morning." Did anyone catch that? I thought he and Silvy got along well so I may have misunderstood or not caught the full context of what he said.

Funny how Terry joins Mac's show again and yet again ignores Bernstein

He was basically shitting on Waddle, as in, how does Silvy get up in the morning knowing he has to do a show with Waddle.

Terry Boers is watching Bears football again. That's kind of newsworthy.

I thought he hated football and loved baseball.

I like Wanny, but the quote they've been using to promote his appearance is ridiculous: (paraphrasing) "When you're going bad, you've really gotta try to turn it around, and when you're going well, you ride it as long as you can." What insight!

That's kinda shitty. Mac carried Jurko and Harry for the most part.

What's his issue with Waddle?

Thanks for clarifying.

Boers was on to promote a charity appearance he's doing in Frankfort Saturday night in which he's going to do 15-20 minutes of stand up comedy. He said it's going to be observational, largely based on the last 3 to 4 days, profane, he hasn't written anything down (it's all in his head), and hasn't rehearsed anything.

That sounds like a recipe for disaster.

could tell parkins thought this was an absurd idea, but wasnt going to pretend to burst the bubble. especially since its for charity, boers is a self deprecation master, and really got the point across he doesnt give a shit if he bombs. still though... yikes

Terry made a fantastic living spinning the no-prep roulette wheel, what's one more whirl? And what's Parkins gonna say? "hyuh hyuh, obvioushly you'll bomb, beloved longtime host I replaced"?

Parkins does do the "hyuh, hyuh..." laugh before he talks thing a lot.

The funny, observational things Terry said many years ago when he was on top of his game might not go over so well now. I picture him telling an unreceptive crowd to "Kiss a sick monkey's wet ass." before stomping off the stage.

Terry has his strengths, stand up would not be one of them.

I don't think it would be cringe worthy bad, just bad bad.

Would he draw a crowd at all? I am a fan and say he is playing in Des Plaines and I lived there I would stay home.

Ya...15-20min even for a stand up comedian is a lot. Something tells me, he will either start telling stories about his career or talk about his book.

I hope Terry ends up doing something like a weekly hit on the show. Anytime he and Mac are together I just want to listen.

It is remarkable how much different/better he sounds now compared to when he retired.

I was at the show and TB was ....awful. It was literally 15 minutes of him stumbling around talking about his book. No jokes. It was like he forgot his script or something.
Anyway, give him a lot of credit for trying... it would be scary for anyone to do that in front of 200 people...

I’m not sure why anyone thinks you can get up before 200 people and do that without practice and prep etc.

Sounds like it was very similar to his contributions during the last several years of B&B before he retired.
