He played good in the first half. Had the one bad decision on the INT.

Second half Vikings made adjustments and Mitch had a bad time.

The whole offense was pretty bad in the second half. Some of the "cute" play calls/formations did not work at all.

Mitchell's legs were an absolute weapon in the first half.

Mike Zimmer made adjustments at half time.

Yeah, the Vikes held Brees to 120 yards passing, they have a legit D. No excuse for Mitch continuing to throw the ball to the other team though.

Mitch played fantastic in the first half. The staff didn't make the proper adjustments at half time. Allen Robinson looked like he wanted to be anywhere else than on the field...maybe he was sick.

All things considered, Mitch played well enough.

Agreed on Robinson. That was an uninspired game by him and he dogged it on the interception play. But then he made a huge catch

He made a lot of great plays and a few bad ones. Overall good game.

I'd say "fine" is correct. He was not good, not great, but not terrible and slightly better than ok.

Nagy got conservative after the interception and fumble in the 2nd half. I thought (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky made huge 3rd down plays down the stretch. That FG drive was key.

I don't get to watch as many full Bears games as the rest of the guys on the board, but when I see Tribusky play, he seems like when he breaks the huddle he's decided who he wants to throw the ball to before the snap. If that guy isn't open, then Mitch is running the ball. He's doesn't seem like he's trying to consistently force plays that aren't there, which is good because the Bears defense is going to maul teams assuming the Bears are leading or the game is close.

That said, if the Bears were down 10 points with 9 minutes left in the 4th quarter, I wouldn't have a ton of confidence that Tribusky could engineer two drives to get the points to tie or win the game.

His legs have been valuable to the offense all season, but I don't think the plan when the Bears drafted him was for Tribusky to be a 500 yard a year rushing QB.

Do you not notice the tone of his tweets though? Start with faint praise and then two or three criticisms or excuses on why his good plays aren't really good plays.

Most Bear fans are in here saying he didn't play well last night. What do you want Barnwell to say? Mitch was awesome and had zero flaws?

At a minimum, we can stop acting like his touchdowns are actually not good throws and give him some credit for those.

I hope you’re referring to a different game because the one he threw last night was a garbage throw.

Did you guys see some of the TD catches from top QBs yesterday?

There were circus catches all over the place...not "terrible" throws.

Doesn't matter. We have to hold (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky to a standard that literally no other QB is held to. We aren't Patriots or Packers or Colts fans. We're fans of a teams who hasn't had a special QB since our Grandparents were kids.

It was not a perfect throw, but it was also a throw that was either going to be a TD or incomplete. Zero chance of it being picked off. Mitch was also under pressure and threw it on the run.

Does Barnwell think Mitch played better than Blake Bortles did yesterday?

He played better than Kirk Cousins. You can't pressure him the same way because he isn't a statue.

It wasn't a garbage throw. It wasn't perfect either. It's getting a little annoying that a second year quarterback who is playing much better this year still gets the "Well, he threw a touchdown, but he was bad doing it so should we really count it for him." treatment.

I don't get it either. After all of the excuses that were made for Jay Cutler (and I made MANY), why can't we simply appreciate what (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has been doing this year?

It doesn't even matter if the QB is a 2nd year player. Quarterbacks don't always make perfect throws and sometimes they are bailed out by their teammates. Listening to Nagy last night I suspect his 2nd interception wasn't his fault. He still gets the blame. Those things happen.

I agree with Rick that some posters are frustratingly myopic and disagreeable.

The Bears are fun as hell. I am enjoying this. Sure I wish Mitch was Tom Brady, but hot damn, we are winning games. We have a championship defense and lots of tools on offense. My concern is a fucking field goal kicker. And I have to give Parkerey (intentional) credit last night. He did his job.

You’d be wrong. He didn’t play well . That TD pass was a bad throw to an open receiver who made a great catch. The defense won the game last night .
