If the Bears had pulled out either the Packers or the Dolphins game, this would be an automatic sit for Mitch, maybe he'd come in for the fourth quarter if it was close. The reality is that while theyd give up momentum, the Bears are a near lock for a #3 seed even at 10-6, and certainly at 11-5.

The most Bears outcome would be for Chase to look great, start a quarterback controversy and erode Mitch's confidence.

The great thing about Chase Daniel getting a spot start against a sub .500 team is that he doesn't throw interceptions and he is mobile. He can be a game manager but we really need to come in devoted to getting Howard running again

I think MANY of you all are underestimating the Lions and being very generous to Chase Daniel.

He will do well is he gets the chance. I would bet on it.

New Orleans has a VASTLY better offense and tackles than can handle Mack. NO is the one team the Bears can’t beat imo.

We’d beat them outdoors at home. They beat us at home in their dome. That’s how I see it atm

I think they have a significantly better chance of winning in Chicago than Chicago does at NO.

The only positive with Chase if he gets the start is that coach Nagy should still have the entire playbook available to him for play calls as Daniel should know the entire offense.

Sucks that Mitch might miss this game. I’m having fun watching him develop. But there’s no need to push an injury like this if it’s minor and rest will get him ready for the next game.

I don’t. It’s about equal. Bears are a more balanced team.

Ok. I think most would disagree that NO and Chicago are equal. The results through 10 games seem to indicate otherwise.

I’m not saying they are equal as teams. I’m saying the odds under these scenarios are about equal. NO playing outdoors in the winter against the Bears stands an equal chance of losing to the Bears as the Bears do losing to the Saints indoors at their stadium.

I do think the Bears are the more balanced team however. And have more overall talent across the board. NO has a HoF QB tho and until proven otherwise -the better head coach. So I’m sure the Saints would be favored atm against the Bears in a neutral setting.

But at home, in the cold? I’m taking the Bears. In NO at their Dome? I’m taking the Saints.. and I’d say the disparity between these two specific scenarios is almost the same.

It sucks that Mitch may not play Thursday. He needs all the reps he can get to continue to develop. But, I’d err on the side of caution with that right arm. I think the Daniels is more than a capable backup. I trust Nagy knows his limitations and will game plan accordingly. Bears win in easy fashion no matter who is slinging it. That defense is still playing and getting better every week.

I don’t blame you for thinking the Bears could win that game. Or even that they would.

Are you saying they would be favored in that game knowing only what we currently know about both teams?

I really want to go to New Orleans for the title game. So I hope we make it. Have a spot to stay I love. And a few bars I like more. If I have a better year might but a spot there. It’s so fun.

To me Drew Brees is the best quarterback in the NFL and has great receivers and running backs. And their defense is decent. New Orleans would be favored by 7 or better points on a neutral field at least. The Bears still have not proved themselves in my book to be an elite team. They have the best defense in football. The rest are not close right now but all of the rules favor the offense. Maybe by the end of this season, as their offense hopefully jells, they can become an elite team but they are not there yet.

The Bears have an elite defense and an above average offense. That's knocking on the door of elite.

As much as I’m trying reign in my meatball, that’s the way I see it and they’re only going to get better.

The question is whether an elite defense matters anymore. Many garbage teams have scored 20+ against this vaunted Bears defense.

MANY garbage time points have been scored against the Bears D. Don't @us with that bullshit, FF.

NO defense is better than most are giving credit.

I still think a Rams game, especially one in LA, turns into a track meet at which the Bears cannot keep up.

Relax Julie DiStansa. Garbage time points are still points. GB scored 24 garbage time points in Week 1 and ended up winning!
