My posts on page 1 were objectively funny. I read them without seeing who posted them and was laughing. Then I saw the poster was me and thought how great I am

Not exactly great for proving Bears fans don't watch teams outside the Bears since I STARTED the thread saying he's a great player.

I wasnt ready to say he was better than a Hall Of Famer after 3 seasons. I dont think it's that crazy.

Yeah most of us agreed that at the time Urlacher was better but that Watt was great and could end up better or as good.

Watt is great. I am still not sure he is better than Urlacher. I don't think that is some controversial opinion. I don't think it is a homer opinion either. Urlacher was a first ballot HOFer.

Watt = 3x defensive player of the year, only other guy with 3 is Lawrence Taylor.

Watt is a better player, there is no shame in not being a better player than Watt.

No doubt Watt is a great player.

The 3x DPOY is impressive. Urlacher was capable of winning that award 3 times as well. He just did not do as flashy of things to get noticed as much. He revolutionized a position.

I am saying it is a toss up...Watt...Urlacher..either way you get an all time great player.

One Post, do you seriously think that is the only thing that should be looked at? That's a ridiculous argument that sounds like something a 6 year old would say.

Drew Brees never won MVP so I guess he's not even close to guys like Kurt Warner who have won it twice when discussing all time great QBs. Give me a fuckin break.

I bumped it because you said I was confused and we never had such a discussion. Lmao @ you starting the thread btw. Who's confused?

Right but I started the thread to say how great Watt was. I didn't remember ripping him or downplaying him because I never did.

4 years ago and I've always thought Watt was great, I guess I forgot saying he MIGHT NOT be better than Urlacher after 3 years in the league.

I was thinking you were talking about something recent, my mistake.

I stand by these questions still. W/L record isn't the most important thing to look at for defensive players, but I don't think you can say it's meaningless either.

Has Watt ever had a game like Urlacher's against Arizona?

I said the only thing to look at is DPOTH? I said that? Just quote where I said it is the only thing to look at.

It is a pretty significant award and measure of greatness as a defensive player. Watt is also the only guy ever with two 20+ sack seasons, also one of the few guys ever to make All Pro at two different positions in the same year, 4 time first team all pro, NFL MVP runner up.

Like I said, Urlacher is an all time great, but nothing wrong with being a bit less great than Watt.

Not for nothing but Brees has two Offensive Player of the year awards, so feel free to discuss him among the all time great QBs.

I had that one called at draft time. Never mind the combine bullshit, the guy had 24 goddamn sacks.

Of course it is. I'm just curious what the Urlacher fan club ranks him as far as defensive players in the last 30 years.

Jayson Taylor?
L.T.
Reggie White
Ray Lewis
Deion Sanders
Ed reed
Bruce smith
Rod woodson
Warren Sapp
Junior seau
Dwight Greene
Julius peppers
Mike Strahan

He was definitely better than Dwight Greene.

Suggs does not belong in the same sentence as Urlacher.

Jayson Taylor? Get out of here.

LT
Reggie White
Ray Lewis
Deon Sanders
Ed Reed
Rod Woodson

Those names belong with Urlacher.

You can stop the list at LT, White, and Lewis.

That was Dwight freeney. You act like suggs is some bum..he's another hall of famer.

Urlacher was great but he's a bit over rated imo.

Or
White and Lewis are all better than anybody on that list including 54

LT is better than anyone on that list. Then White, Lewis, and Urlacher in that order. Rest of the guys come after that with Deion or Reed rounding out the top 5.

They changed LT to or .. Of course LT is #1.

I'd take Reed and Sanders over 54.. How bout Rfdc underselling Suggs? A no doubter HOF beast.

I am not saying Suggs was bad or even close. Just that he does not belong in the same conversation as Urlacher.

If you wanna throw him in the conversation I'm fine with that. I'd like to hear a case he was better than 54. I don't think one can be made.

312 I get the distinct feeling you forgot how dominant Urlacher was or never appreciated it to begin with.

Urlacher was great, he was always over rated imo.. I'm not alone, almost yearly scouts, gms and players were polled on a most over rated list and he was usually the winner. It was a running joke on the score that Sunday would show 54 with 5 tackles and after the bears watched the tape it would double.
