I was kind of surprised not to see Bill Conti's name listed in the credits for Gonna Fly Now and other themes the composer used in this movie. I know there was new music, but Conti's themes were very evident. I figured they would do like they did with Rogue One ("music by Michael Giacchino, original music by John Williams"). The importance of the original Conti music to the franchise cannot be overstated.

I'm kind of with Dolphin in thinking having her sing to his entrance seemed out of place.

Fair take.

I could see not liking Bianca singing, but its nothing as crazy as Old Man dolphin made it out to be. (He'd be the laughing stock of the sports world)

And I think the score in this one was not on par with any of the other films (why play the Rocky music AFTER he knocks down Viktor?)

Hopefully Coogler or someone as good directs the 3rd one. I think with better direction all these little things would have been better.

It was like Greg Brady getting to sing or from a more contemporary hit show, the daughter on the Goldbergs

And can you also show me where Mary anne and Ludmilla accompanied their husbands?

A true Rocky fan knows that not only did Mary Anne not accompany Apollo, but she was far more upset when he lost the title to Rocky in 2 than when he lost his life in 4 if you compare the reactions side by side.

Are you arguing that Ludmilla, out of all the spouses of all the fighters in all the movies, was not the most obvious example of a partner to her husband?

You yourself argue she is the villain of IV. She is hated because she insinuates herself in her husband's career.

See my edit. Adrian disappeared once he starts going to the ring. I was open to the idea I was mistaken, but turns out I was correct. )

Taste and opinion can be argued. This cannot.

I guess you are hanging your hat on that she technically did not enter the ring with him. She only was with him from the locker room and walked up the aisle with him the entire way until the steps. If you are not making that pedantic argument, then I don't know how much more clear and convincing evidence I can provide.

So, was it the song, her (being the first wife to ever do it) accompanying him to the ring, or both?

Like I said, I can see taking issue with it, I just think it worked in this instance.

Also, I like that Bianca is not the perpetual wet blanket that Adrian always was to Rocky.

Adrian was possibly mentally handicapped.

She definitely started the walk with him. But then there's a shot of Rocky walking and her already in her seat. Not great editing.

I will admit I remembered it as her going to her seat and Rocky going down the aisle.

But yes, accompanied to the ring = enter the ring.

Actually in the first Drago fight he came out to Jaden Smith. A lot of people onllne seemed to like it. I thought it was ok. I was surprised to find out it was Jaden Smith.

Of course she was. That's why Rocky took her to the zoo to propose.

Also, Ludmilla's whole part in the movie felt like a sweeps week cheesy cameo.

and I dont believe she would leave the fucking fight, no matter how bad it got. That, and her whole storyline was crazy.

I saw this posted elsewhere, but it rings true...what happened to Ludmilla after IV? She abandoned her son and husband, then stayed single for 30 years in case Ivan the loser had a son who would redeem him? What was she going to do if he won? Get back with Ivan? It just made no sense.

I have not watched many movies in my life (I have seen the first four in the Rocky franchise ages ago), but rented Creed the other day. I was fairly impressed with it and am honestly looking forward to seeing II. Any idea when it will be available for rental?

This was not a good film. Coogler was missed. As was a plot.

Rented it this past weekend. Not going to lie, I cried like a baby burrito at the end with Drago and his son.

I liked that last one with Creed and Drago.

Tony Burton destroys this scene.

Honorable mention to that scene in BALBOA where he's chewing out his kid in the street. That might have been the best scene Stallone ever did.

Great scene. Added a lot of depth to Burton and Weathers characters. Creed wasn't a one dimensional Big Bad, he had his own motivations and drives. His pride was at stake. Set up a whole lot. Rocky II was actually a pretty good flick. Rocky in this movie mirrored what Stallone was going through professionally at the time , too.

Saw it on the plane last week. It was okay. Weak plot. And this has to be the dumbest workout montage ever for a Rocky movie. Just like in the first Creed, you never get the feeling this guy is really a boxer. He's more of a guy who just happens to be good at boxing because of his dad.
