I can say that almost every other time in my Chicago sports history it has been very easy for me to say fire a coach or a GM. I personally did not like them, which made the whole thing easier. Dusty, Jauron, Tim Floyd, etc.

But Paxson has demonstrated a poor judge of top talent, too many times. Telling me that he offered someone on his team that he feels is better than Al Jefferson for Kevin Garnett. I hate to inform Paxson that he has nobody better on his team than Al Jefferson.

Next I role into the love of Capt Kirk. I haven't seen so many white guys like another white guy since Marky Mark did his 'drop trow tour' on Broadway in Boys town.

Not only does Kirk play the same position as D Rose, but he is a big contract now that needs to be moved.

Hmmm, who could the Bulls get to replace a former championship winning Bulls guard for GM....?????....Certainly, I can only think of one name...

Nas, do you think he will make the right choice?
It is clear to me. a basketball dope, that Rose is what the Bull needs.
With Captain Kirk on the roster, do you think Pax will be of the same opinion?

I hope you arent talking about trading the top pick. If thats not the case I agree with you. We better not go into next season with the same roster + rookie.

Kind of like Mitch Kupchak and Danny Ainge, John Paxson is going to look like a lot smarter GM next year.

I wouldnt say that yet. He's gonna need to make a couple moves in the offseason, but his degree of difficulty just lowered substantially.

If the #1 can get you a Kobe or Bosh type of player I think the Bulls would be wise to trade the pick. As of now they have too many of the same pieces and bringing in Rose without trading any of them would make it worse IMO. The Bulls have to make a trade for a super star. If trading the #1 pick accomplishes that I don't have a problem with it.

I wouldnt trade Rose for Bosh. I understand why you would want to, but I dont think Bosh will ever be a true franchise guy. I think Rose can. Obviously I would give it up in a heartbeat for Kobe, Lebron, Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, probably Deron Williams, and maybe a couple others. Clearly none of them are available, and I dont want to settle for an All Star in return. I want a superstar. An All Star will get us back in the playoffs. A superstar will eventually have us back in the Finals. Rose may or may not be that guy, but I think he will be and I will be pissed if they trade the pick.

Would you trade Elton Brand for Tyson Chandler? That's what it comes down to. Elton Brand wasn't a superstar but the Clippers made that deal and it worked out for them. The Bulls gambled that Chandler could develop into a Garnett type player and it never happened. That's the same thing the Bulls would be doing here. There is no guarantee that Rose or Beasley will become stars. Rose could end up looking like Jay Williams.

No I wouldnt have done that trade and its one the reasons I love the one year rule. High school players were routinely misevaluated. We know something about Rose. We saw him destroy his closest competition in the Elite Eight game in Augustin. I have a very good feeling about him.

He also played in a terrible conference.

He sure did. He also played well against top teams in the tourney. You might be right, I might be right. Hard saying. Noone knows for sure. Im just willing to take the gamble because I dont want to turn into a pereniial playoff team that never makes "the Leap" because they lack a true franchise guy.

How many All-stars or even potential All-stars has his good talent evaluation brought the Bulls? 5 years and we've had zero. Paxson needed to go last season and getting the #1 pick is just going to saddle us with his incompetent ass even longer.

Well anybody on this board could have taken the best available guy. I expect a GM to be smarter than I am.

Hindsight's 20/20, but I'd rather have Iggy than Ben Gordon right now. (2004)

Gordon, Hinrich, Deng. Nobody picked after them was better.

Tyrus Thomas might be the only mistake.

Here is the only way Reinsdorf should fire Pax. Reinsdorf should ask Pax who he is gonna take before the draft. If he says Beasley then you fire him.

You could argue that Iggy is better than Deng. He's a better overall player than Gordon for sure.

I've said it in a few threads, you need stars to win in the NBA. In 5 years, through the draft or through trades, we have acquired zero NBA stars. We've had high draft picks, expiring contracts, and players that other teams wanted, we've had the necessary tools for trades. There's no excuse for the Bulls to lack the one thing an NBA team needs most, and I blame Paxson for that.
