Based on what? Eye test?

I believe our guy is box score scouting.

No way. By any respectable metric Ben is a top three QB this year. Top 4 at worst.

This year it's Mahomes, Goff, Ben, and Brees. Then it's everyone else.

That's just wrong.

It's Brees and Mahomes and everyone else and very distant third is probably Cam Newton or Rivers.

This but if you flipped Brees and Mahomes I wouldn't complain.

Ben is 4th overall in passer rating behind Ryan, Mahomes, Goff. Cam Newton is 23rd. He's around where I'd rank him this year.

Ryan being 4th tells you all you need to know. Brees or Mahomes will be MVP unless there are 2 plane crashes

This tells you how silly it is to judge a QB off one metric.

I hope.

Vegan, honest question, do you think QB rating alone is enough to judge how a player has played through a certain number of games? Genuinely curious.

I may have to adjust my list and put Manning below Nathan Peterman

Based on vegan's criteria we may just need to put the top 15 QBs this year as the best ever. Can't argue with QB rating.

Tier 2

4. Russell Wilson
5. Phillip Rivers
6. Patrick Mahomes

12. Deshaun Watson
13. Matt Ryan
14. Kirk Cousins

Tier 4

15. Matt Stafford
16. Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky
17. Case Keenum
18. Dak Prescott
19. Baker Mayfield
20. Derek Carr
21. Marcus Mariota

Tier 5

22. Jameis Winston
23. Ryan Tannehill
24. Josh McCown
25. Eli Manning
26. Lamar Jackson
27. Josh Rosen
28. Josh Allen

Tier 6

29. Jeff Driskel

No. Look at Ben. He put the team on his back madden style several times this year. Most recently in the comeback win against the Jags.

And Ben the Whiner is pointing fingers to cover up his stupid throws this weekend. I'd really liked the Steelers before this year, but I hope they follow the excuse making perennial retirement threat straight into the toilet this season

Mayfield is a little outspoken. The media is going to torch him if he doesn't shut up a little bit until he has some real success.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky, Watson and Mahomes will all be leading teams into the playoffs in a few weeks as second year players. That is a pretty nice group

Meanwhile the guys making the boatloads of cash- Rodgers, Stafford, Ryan, etc- will be playing golf in January.

Yes. If you didn't need to show Brady, Brees and Rodgers respect for their past performance, I think that it would be safe to call him the best quarterback in football. That could change. Wentz was the MVP for the first 12 weeks last year and now he looks like a guy and he's injured again. Goff looks like crap with elite talent.

When Cooper Kupp went down, Goff went to shit.

Yep. That and slowing down Gurley makes the play action fake useless.

Mariota’s gotta be in the bottom 3-5 from now on. I keep wanting to give him a little benefit of the doubt but there’s several games worth of evidence now that there’s not much of a difference between him and Blaine Gabbert in that offense.

Looked good as a rookie. Winston isn't that far off.

Beginning of the year there was talk of a massive long term extension for Mariota. I'm thinking the Titan's extend him for $20.9 1 year if they makes the playoffs, even though he's not good.

I would draft a replacement but a lot of absolute bums get big deals.
