College teams are kicking fewer field goals. Kicking is just going to get worse year after year.

It’s weird that when I watch college they have some afterthought LB as a kicker.

Parkey counts more against the salary cap than Howard, Cohen, Jackson, and Whitehair combined!

Probably trade him to the Raiders for a 3rd round pick in the next draft.

We should pay the 49ers to release Gould and then scoop him up.

Everyone mocked North for saying the Bears should have taken Janikowski over Urlacher. Janikowski is still out there making kicks.

Urlacher Super Bowl wins: 0

Likely Super Bowl winning chances for this Bears team with Janikowski: 99%

If you are looking for a top drafted kicker from FSU I think Roberto Aguayo is available.

Parkey being so bad/inconsistent probably means going for an 2 point try early and/or in an unexpected situation. If the Bears score early a TD in the opening quarter on Sunday vs. Philly, do they go for two?

Take Parkey out of the equation. Nagy's goal line play calls are really damn good, paired with that defense. If you put up 8 first, that almost forces the Eagles to go for 2 since you can't let the Bears play with a lead.

The entire special teams has been pretty underwhelming all year. I'd love to see if they could coax Toub away from the Chiefs. Give him an associate head coach title along with STC.

Yeah, ST has been a shitshow all year. Yesterday you also have the idiot punter running into an official and Cohen running 15 yards in reverse on return plus a holding penalty every other kick/punt return. Tabor has to go.

I believe he already has that title in KC.

The punter is the only serviceable player on ST. Cohen fair catches everything or does something stupid. They don't have a true kick returner either.

Yesterday, I think Cohen was under directions to fair catch everything.

He has become more Hester-like lately running backwards and east and west.

Its fucking stupid that Punters and kickers can't do each others' jobs.

Cohen is awesome as a punt returner. It would be nice to have some folks with him that can give him a block. SOmetimes he fails but the threat of breaking a run is always there.

Considering that Hester was the greatest returner of all time, I'd say that Cohen is doing just fine. You might want to ask the people around him to get a legal block or two for him.

He almost missed his first extra point. Something in the timing of the kick is wrong and I think that is what Nagy was implying in his press conference. Me guess is that the ball doesn't get spotted up on time and therefore the foot meets the ball late and the ball gets pushed to the right.

https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears ... s-contract

It didn’t take long for kicker Cody Parkey to fall out of favor in Chicago.

His missed kicks this season already have Bears fans wanting him off the team, and at least one wants to pay up for it.

A Bears fan identified as Nicholas Kelly of Fort Campbell, Kentucky started a crowdfunding campaign to buy out the $9 million of guaranteed money in Parkey’s contract.

The 26-year-old kicker signed in Chicago this offseason on a four-year, $15 million contract, with 60 percent of it guaranteed at signing.

He missed an extra point against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 17 but made up for it with a 42-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

Parkey finished the regular season 23-of-30 on field goals, good for 76.7 percent accuracy, and 41-of-44 on extra points (93.2 percent).

Bears fans are quick to forget the kicking issues they had last season, with Connor Barth hitting only 68.8 percent of his field goals, although the team only missed two extra points all season.

No one has donated to the ‘GoFundMe’ yet, and that wouldn't actually be able to affect the Bears' salary cap, but at the very least, it’s a funny story from a frustrated fan.

If Chicago released Parkey in the offseason, they would add over $5 million in dead cap money while taking just over $4 million off the books, saving no cap space in the process.

It's hard to block for a guy running the wrong way and reversing field constantly.

I remember Hester reversing the field many many times. I can't believe a few of you guys are actually bagging on Cohen. Guess what? He didn't make the PRO BOWL based only on his performance as a running back. YOu fellows need to call out the blokes who aren't carrying their weight as blockers on special teams.

To say or imply that Cohen doesn't understand how to return punts is totally non-sense.
