I would’ve purposely tossed the 2nd half of the Vikings game after seeing their “best shot”

That team blew ass and you knew you would’ve kicked their ass.

Yep, despite his being a douchebag, Kirkwood is right this time.

This was predictable and is why we should have thrown the Vikes game.

I thought the Bears would win this one and lose either next round or in the NFC championship bracket. The Eagles are not an impressive team and the "defending champs" moniker doesn't mean shit. This team has no RBs of note and is missing its franchise QB. They have a good o line and an average defense. Nothing special. A good offense will put this team down for good.

I thought they'd light up the Eagles' suspect secondary a little more, with Bears' castoffs Crevon LeBlanc and Corey Graham. They were some wide open receivers that Mitch hit (that would have been hard to miss) and they should have thrown deeper more often.

The Eagles secondary is going to get lit up like a Christmas tree against the Saints.

Agreed, Nagy's playcalling for much of the game was suspect. He accelerated Mitch's development in the beginning of the season, but he seemed to be hampering it towards the end of the season.

I think it's because he realized that he can't throw all that well.

Yup. Seeing them get destroyed will be good. May increase our sense of disappointment though.

I think the more likely reason is it got down towards the end of the season and must win time and he decided to put the development on hold and do whatever he could to win games for now (reasonable move) and he thought reigning in (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky for now was the best way.

I dont think Nagy or anyone with the Bears is down on (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

If they put a hold on (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky because it's "must win" time then doesn't that imply they're necessarily down on (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky?

I didn't see it coming. I thought that defense was damn near unbeatable at Soldier Field.

Long term I think he'll be a solid but unspectacular QB. Will never justify the cost.

They had a 5 point lead in the 4th quarter and couldn't stop the Eagles from getting a TD.

They didn't do their job.

No one on the team did.

If you want a Luck, Mahomes, Rodgers, etc then he's not your guy. If you're fine with a Flacco, Eli Manning, etc., then he's your guy.

And if the fagot kicker does his job they win by 1. You are expecting the defense to be perfect 100% of the time? BTW on the helmet hit flag on the Bears, it should have been dead ball delay of game on the Eagles, play clock was @ zero and ball wasn't snapped.

I see your point, but Nagy was ostensibly hired in part because he believes that aggressive offensive play, not game management offense, leads to victory.

Nagy seemed to lose his identity over the last few weeks of the season.

His early season wizardry suggested he was the second coming of Don Coryell...but we wound up with John Shoop.

I will gladly take an Eli and his 2 superbowl wins. And Flacco has as many superbowl wins as Rodgers.

That's similar to the sentiment that Brian Billick mentioned the other day with Mac and Parkins (maybe it was Parkins and Spiegel). Billick was known as an offensive guru, but around halfway through his championship season he realized he had a once in a generation defense and decided to hold back on his offensive plans (though how much he could have done with Dilfer was questionable anyway). Maybe Nagy felt the same way...that the defense would carry them through as long as (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky didn't turn the ball over.

Offense drove down late and scored a touchdown to take a 5 point lead. A great defense holds that lead.
