I don't think you can really compare the Bears, with a Super Bowl win, to a team without a Super Bowl win that hasn't won a playoff game since 1990.

No offense intended to IMU, who I like as a poster...but he looks like the kind of guy who has grown a beard to keep people from mistaking him for a lesbian.

I was going with "growing a beard to prove he can actually grow one, and not look like a high school freshman".

It's probably ALL because I don't want to look like a high school freshman.

Of course, in 20 years when you're all bald, I'll get the last laugh.

That sounds an awful lot like Chicago Cubs fans holding their two World Series trophies over Cleveland's zero before the 2016 World Series started.

Bears fans might not want to hold onto that Super Bowl XX trophy too tightly or it'll be 108 years before you can even blink.

You’re a Vikings fan right? How’s not having any SB trophy to hold onto at all working out in regards to this logic?

I think it would be the same as a Bears fan his age. Seems pretty funny to brag about a SB trophy you weren't alive to witness.

I was wondering last night if it's going to take another SB win to get rid of all those Ditka costumes at the game. Talk about a tired cliche.

It works out like this: Neither the Bears nor the Vikings have won a Super Bowl since I've been born. The Cubs didn't win a championship since I was born until 2016.

Holding onto distant trophies is stupid. Hell, for Bulls fans, do the six championships in the 90's make you feel good about Blakeney playing 20 important minutes a game?

How many times do I have to say it? The only championship you can win is this year's championship. 2016 was a good memory. But I'm not bringing up 2016 when discussing why I can accept the 2018 Cubs shitting the bed. I can't accept the 2018 Cubs shitting the bed. They failed. Bears failed. Vikings failed.

I’m 41 bud. 85 was the 1st season I started watching pro-sports, and I have a lot of memories from that season.

It's been 33 years. Your memories are starting to fade, if even just a little bit.

But you just might be the type that yells DITKA during the opening kickoff at Soldier Field.

By this logic no teams fan base has rights in a discussion like this one (outside of 2 years) where their team is hilariously and wrongfully compared to another franchise in similarity. That’s what this particular conversation is about. And I disagree with you on this.

And on those grounds, the franchise in question is not comparable to the other in question. When you’re comparing two things in their entirety, you don’t get to subtract stuff from one side to make your side of the argument hold up. That’s not how it gets to work.

I was still around to see it. I’ve seen other success (and failure) since then too.

No, I’m not that type of fan. And although I find the SNL skits amusing im not the type to rock ‘Da Bears’ gear or go around saying it either.

The entire conversation is stupid. Because in the last 30 years, both are futile. In the last 10 years, the Bengals have had more 'success,' with 6 playoff appearances.

But neither team has anything to be proud of recently.
