Bernstein was upset that the PBP voice of the Bears was referring to them as the "Chicago Bears" instead of just the "Bears." I understand his point, but would prefer Bender's "Chicago Bears" to the melange of donkey shit Joniak serves up every Sunday.

Gary Dolphin, the Iowa announcer, was up for the job but didn't want to give up the Iowa football/basketball gig. He was also a finalist with Bender and the Bears picked Bender. He was suspended 2 games in November for critical comments he made that ended up airing during a commercial break. He's a good PBP man and has a good voice.

Joniak and Thayer are a good listen. They deliver what information I need, add some knowledge, and don’t piss me off. Thayer is fun on the color.
