They NEVER were interested at $20-25 mildough per. They may have hoped that prices would collapse and then swoop in, but when Manny got the offer from the Sox, that was it. They moved on.

They're going to be writing some big checks in the future. I can understand them not wanting to write one now.

There's some risk here because Ottavino doesn't have a long track record and is already 33 yrs old but fuck me he was as nasty as any pitcher in baseball last year. If he's anywhere near that good the Yankees will have a disgusting bullpen.
