Herb gets all judgemental and douchey to fans who want Hunt on Twitter...then he basically says he wants the Bears to pick him up on the radio just now.

Pick a lane Herb!

He was as bad at that job as he is as a radio host.

I like Herb but I don't understand why he's hammering fans about Hunt.

I used to like him. He’s become Dicaro-esque in how much he derides and shames anyone who isn’t 100% lock step with the very left. It’s annoying as fuck. I’m thinking because you haven’t been on Twitter the last couple years you haven’t seen it to that extent.

LoHo had a segment called "Ask Herb". It used to be mildly entertaining, but ever since he came back from San Diego he's PTFB material.

I feel like everyone at The Score is to some degree and it is annoying even when I agree with them. I don't check out Twitter that often and I completely missed early Twitter stuff. Someone else should probably take the Twitter account from me because I'm not able to give it the attention it needs.

I’ll be honest, the only reason I care -or don’t care- about him signing here is the distraction aspect. I don’t want this team getting fucked up by that.

Outside of that, I don’t care. I’m not under any allusions that all the athletes i’ve cheered for over the decades are great people outside of the game. So I’m not gonna bother with the faux outrage and virtue signaling which is a waste of time. We should all be able to admit hurting innocent people is bad and so on.

But in today’s climate, it is what it is. And that’s why I’m actually concerned about the distraction aspect more than anything else.

Agreed! Chapman's was definitely worse.

Was it?

The only thing confirmed about Chapman is that he went to his garage and shot a gun in anger (nowhere near the girl)

She alleges he grabbed her by the neck and pushed her against a wall, but the cops said even that was in dispute.

I agree to a point. But Hunt is a great receiving running back, too. Not all RB's (J. Howard) are and it's important in this offense.

I was thinking similarly. I wasn't sure he ever hit her but scared the hell out of her or mental abuse. Sometimes that is worse I guess but I am not a shrink or MLB commissioner.

hunt is basically howard and cohen merged in to one dynamic player.

the only reason he's on the street was he lied to the chiefs management about the hotel incident... he wasnt cut because of hitting a women, he was cut because he lied about it. if he had been forthright from jump he'd probably have served a suspension to start season and would be playing on sunday

The OC thing is easy to goof on, even I did when I first posted it here, but it's irrelevant. Like someone already mentioned, the Bears OC was a failure at Oregon and he hid behind Nagy successfully this year. It will come down to if LeFleur know what he's doing or not, and considering how ravaged TN was by injuries and how little talent they had even when healthy, I'm not putting a lot of stock into a one year sample size.

Helfrich's resume strikes me as more impressive than Hackett's. Keep in mind that Helfrich had one losing season during his tenure as Oregon head coach and was fired. Generally, though, his Oregon career was marked by major successes. His offenses regularly ranked among the best in the country and were regarded as highly innovative.

The same can't be said for Hackett. He's really only had one very good season as an OC, and even then his offensive scheme wasn't considered groundbreaking, given its reliance on a conventional running attack and play-action passing.

The bottom line is that Helfrich's hiring underscores Nagy's commitment to developing a creative, dynamic offense whereas Hackett's hiring suggests LaFleur will embrace a more conventional approach to offensive football.

Play action is arguably the most important facet of McVay's offense. I don't consider heavy use of that to be part of a conventional offense.

Sorry for the late response--I just saw your reply now.

Yeah, obviously running play-action helps teams pass more effectively and can thus elevate QB play. I tend to think of it as mainstream since teams have been using it for decades, although generally not to the extent that McVay is with the Rams. To me, though, play-action isn't so much the key to McVay's offensive attack as is his superior understanding of defensive strategy and how to exploit it. Using play-action reflects some of that insight, but it's only part of what's going on with him. Ron Turner, for instance, ran play-action pretty frequently during his Bears tenure, but the situations in which he used it became very predictable, especially given his dependence on a limited set of sets/routes in combination with it.

The gun thing is not good, but is going to another room away from the woman and shooting a gun domestic violence?

Midget and FF I think play action and the jump and cut style is much better in this offense than Howard is. Howard is a dream in counter and traps and of course in line. God forbid anyone would use a lead blocker especially I formation he would kill. Like Shady and Bell, Hunt can cut find a hole and then be fast quickly.

All accusations are alleged until we have video and we know that your celebrity could play a role in prosecutors or the police pursuing it. It could also play a role in the victim telling a consistent story or even showing up. Chapman acknowledges firing 8 shots at a wall during a domestic dispute. I don't know about you but I would prefer to get my ass kicked than someone who is pissed at me pull out a gun and start shooting.

A woman in Florida got like 20 years for firing a gun in the air to warn an abusive husband.

I agree with you. I like Howard but he just doesn't fit with the way the line blocks. He is a good reliable runner but needs a hole to be left open for him to get going and he just cannot what they used to call "run to daylight".

As for Hunt, I think that he is an awesome runner but that Virginia will never going along with it and maybe she shouldn't. I think that they ought to see what they can get back in a trade for Howard in terms of a draft pick and go that way.

Ok, so the domestic violence is shooting his gun in the garage alone and away from the woman?

I can see how that's insane and scary for the woman, but I dont think that is domestic violence.

Maybe I need to redefine it, but to me domestic violence involves physically harming the other person.

This is why you cant group all this shit together. Whatever Chapman did, it's not on the level of Chris Brown and Rihanna etc. Its not all the same, even though its all bad.
