Um, who finished at the bottom of the NFC North this year anyway? Who quit on his team this year in Green Bay? Who is a stupid fan of that team on this board? Questions to ponder.

I see it the other way around. Your dislike of Mitch is giving the line and Nagy credit for the progress that Mitch has made this year. did you not see how horrible Chase Daniel looked behind center?

I did. I agree Mitch is better than a 9 year career backup. Fair?

Still taking a beating. I didn't say who was winning.

I don't feel as good about Mitch after seeing Mahomes last night.

Mahomes is Russel Wilson with a Dan Marino arm or better. If you were evaluating the two out of college, I don't know how you (Pace) could think Mitch could possibly be better. You traded up for the wrong quarterback.

As for Mitch, he'll do ok in the Nagy system, but he'll never be the QB Mahomes is. KC is the next dynasty in football, if they can get some better defensive players.

If you evaluate him in relation to Mahomes you are going to be frustrated for a decade. Evaluate him on his own. He's developing into a very nice QB

Why Russel Wilson? That makes no sense.

You wanted the Bears to sign Kirk Cousins, so really everyone should just wipe their ass with your sports opinions.

In general, Mahomes really need the right fit to be as great as he is. He would have been bad with the Bears under Fox. Of course, now that the Bears have Nagy, he would be a tremendous fit. But he was a system QB in college and needed a similar system in the NFL. Reid has that system and was able to evaluate accordingly.

If everyone knew Mahomes would have been this good, then he would have been the #1 overall draft pick, if not by the Browns then some other team would have sold the farm to trade up for him, so it's pointless to talk about at this point.

Mahomes has convinced me that he is going to be a generational quarterback if he stays healthy. His play against the Pats was terrific. Watching him on the sideline he was as calm as they get and when it was his turn he displayed terrific instincts and excellent touch. He missed one wide open throw for a touch down but other than that, what a game he played.

Mitch right now is not in Mahomes class but so what? I think that he will be a Pro Bowl caliber quarterback and be able to lead the team to championships. He doesn't have to be the best of the best. Just be very good and that should be good enough for Bear's fans, right?

He is right on schedule. At worst, he will develop into a league average starter with the potential to be much better. If you can say that in year 2 about a quarterback then you should be happy.

Agreed. Outside of Reid and Nagy most expected Mahomes to be a late 1st round pick or get picked as late as the 3rd round. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was top 2 on every board. Most got the evaluation of Mahomes wrong.

I've noticed that you can beat Mahomes if you make him work. He prefers to get the big chunks right away. He missed yesterday on 2 easy touchdowns which is rare for him.

I disagree in this sense - when evaluating Mahomes for their system, they probably did not think he would be as good. I don't think he would be as effective under center and running the type of O many teams in the league play. As I said above, for the Reid/Nagy system, he is perfect. The question for the other teams is did they think Mahomes would be so good in another system that it would be worth firing their coaching staff and re-doing their roster. Probably not coming out of college.

I think Mahomes is really really good, but I think some need to hold off on proclaiming him the heir apparent to Brady. It is one season. Let's see what he can do over the long haul. Things change quickly in the NFL.

I wouldn't be satisfied if that were the case. We're right back where we started if he's merely league average with potential to be better. That's Jay Cutler and you got rid of him to get a superstar QB.

That's not accurate. The trade surprised MANY people because it was so dumb at the transactional level but also because of who they drafted at 2. I remember looking through boards that night and there was no consensus on Mitch as second best. Here's the sporting news board which had him as the third or fourth best QB in the draft and 63rd best prospect overall.

You obviously hope that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky becomes the best quarterback in the league but you are in decent shape with a quarterback in his second year who at worst is a capable starter. If he was in year 7 or 8 we may be having a different discussion and the comparison to Cutler would be more accurate.

I'd be fine with the Ravens run with Flacco

As long as that results in a ring. If the Bears win the Super Bowl next season and Mitch suddenly morphs into Rex Grossman after that, I'd be alright with it.

If we we're using current players then I'd be fine with Matt Ryan as a floor for (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

That's probably his ceiling. Flacco or Alex Smith is probably his floor.

The throw Mitch made to get the Bears into field goal range at the end of the Eagles game, is a throw that Flacco and Smith are unable to make.

Very happy with how Mitch played in the play off game. As Nas was saying on game day though, I wish Nagy would have let him air it out a little more in the first half.

100 out of 100 times with ANY qb drafted

MattyIce has had an excellent career.

Someday, all Bears fans hope to watch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky historically choke away a Superbowl.

Smith and Flacco have had some nice throws in their careers but yeah that's a worst case for Mitch I think.

Flacco's deep throw to beat Denver in 2012 is better than any Mitch throw we've seen so far. Inaccurate to suggest Flacco wasn't capable of it, he just was never able to be consistent outside of that great four game postseason run.
