6 inches here on the lakefront and I hear another 6 of lake effect tonight. Great.

We had maybe 3" in Tinley, but it was so gusty that parts of the drive were bare and others had 7" or so. I cleaned it up before leaving for wrestling this morning around 8:30 and then when I got back at 3:15ish, it looks like just wind covered up a few spots.

5-6 in Darien, very light fluffy stuff, was easy to move with pusher shovel... That shit from November was the worst wettest snow ever and nearly had me buying a blower

Too much snow in Gurnee. The wind was a pain in the ass, too.

I prefer to leave that storm back in STORMWATCH 2018... she was a nasty one. Except for a few guitar chords, everything I've learned in my life that is of any value I've learned from women.

Bought a new (to me), refurbished blower this morning, from the lawn mower shop up the road. It's not big and not fancy, but it got the job done.

Just took care of half my office lot with the bobcat. That's a lot more fun than a shovel or a snowblower. Be back to do the rest tomorrow.

It's Manhattan:30.

It snowed. I had to laugh when everyone treated it like a massive blizzard was coming. I even got a robocall from the Area Manager at work to say that they planned to continue normal operations throughout the weekend despite the "winter weather conditions" that had been forecasted.

Seriously we can't get more than a few inches without it being a "winter weather event" these days, can we?

Yep... The sun goes down, the night rolls in... you can feel it starting all over again.

Calling for 3-7 inches starting this afternoon but weather person this morning said that it will likely move a bit south and that Kenosha can expect more
than the 2-4" they initially were calling for. I am supposed to drop my wife off at her bosses house tomorrow at 6am as they are flying to Mexico so I
hope they can get out tomorrow but beyond that I will likely blow out the driveway around 8 or 9 pm so I am not dealing with possibly 6 inches of wet and
heavy snow early in the morning.

Every year I get like 3% more scared I’m gonna fall on ice and bust my shit. I feel like I’m getting to the age where my body would not accommodate a fall as gracefully as it once would have.

Took me three tries to get up my drive and make the turn into the garage safely.... behind those doors, it's a wilder ride.

It's not the worst storm I've seen but people at work were freaking out all the same. I was the only person in the office by 4. Maybe its that little bit of the Army in me but I dont remember a start/stop time on our office doors.

Red and Blue lines were delayed tho. Not sure if storm related

In my attempt to help my son walk up the driveway from the bus, he wiped out and then I wiped out.

I don't know how many more years I can do that and keep a solid bone structure.

I'm an old man...and most people hate me. But, I don't like them either so that makes it all even.

Took a crash yesterday while watering cattle. Hit some ice and I crashed hard. I stayed down for about 5 minutes just hoping the ankle woukd work because it kind of twisted under me as I tried to save the fall. In the end it was fine but god damn I have a sore hip today. Going to need to get myself a rascal to get around.. or a hoveround.

I walk my dog 3 times a day and between that and clearing the driveway I have slipped at least a dozen times this year but miraculously caught myself
every time so far. I have told myself many times I will not be so lucky one of these days and break my arm or wrist. I shoveled off an inch or two last
night at about 7:30. Another 2-3 inches on the ground this morning that I used the snowblower on. Really starting to come down now so I would suspect
we could see another 3-4 inches until noon. It will be a ghost town here as half our team in in the UK for work and MANY others will be staying home. I
had to drop my wife off at 5:30 to catch her ride to Mexico so it looks like I will be here until about lunch and then will go home and dig out my place.
Overall that is a pretty good day. I don't mind putting on my iPod and moving snow for a while at home. Will be nice to have an empty house until Friday
as well.

Last time I fell, I missed two days of work. So, I am so worried about eating shit every year. If there is the least bit of ice or snow, the dog walks herself in the back yard.

I ordered some ice shoe strap things tonight. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0784 ... UTF8&psc=1 I'll let you know how they work out but for $25, thought it was probably a decent investment.

In Tinley, we almost had exclusively rain this week, which has now frozen to the drive, making the drive a sheet of ice. Knowing that there is snow coming on Monday and we aren't getting warm enough to melt any of this, I am thinking it is a good time to gear up so I can clear the snow (if we get the 6" or whatever -- maybe we get lucky and it all goes into the Northern suburbs again (apologies to Harvard Dan and the like.)) I'll let you know how they hold up. I dislocated my right kneecap a year and a half ago, so I get extra concerned when we get into these icy situations.

And as for now the dogs have had to be satisfied with just going in the backyard. No walks. They'll live. Winter's a losing proposition, but one you can't refuse. It's the nature of the winter storms. It's the newper's shoes.
