Manager Jim Leyland said Tuesday that Carlos Guillen "has been playing with hemorrhoids that probably need to be lanced."
Lovely. "He can hardly move, he's got hemorrhoids so bad," Leyland said. After starting at third base Monday, Guillen moved to designate hitter Tuesday. Normally we'd make a joke here, but anyone who has his boss literally telling newspaper reporters about his having "hemorrhoids so bad" probably deserves some kindness. Next time someone opines that baseball players are overpaid, bring up that point.
