If I look harder I'm sure there have been others recommending that guys be banned. I think that the people who profess to care about the place need to ask themself is this the sort of site that you really want? Banning people simply because they disagree with you? Or even because they annoy you?

I suppose some can say that the owners/moderators can also help to ease things up around here. I am only spit balling and saying this generically but if they didn't take part in multing or trolling for a variety of reasons they wouldn't really be targeted or fought with as much.

I have no evidence they do this but if they create turmoil trolling for more hits for instance then who is to blame when there is turmoil?

I don't like the board right now. I haven't for a while due to all the pissing matches. It seems to me that MANY come here just to bitch...and not about sports or sports radio. Not that anyone has noticed, but I come here less and less because of that.

For all of bigfan's faults and craziness running the board, it was a more enjoyable experience then....the last few months of his reign, notwithstanding.

There is an inherent problem with having three bosses as opposed to one, which has been evidenced here recently. Companies are reflections of ownership and management and this place has a D- in my grade book.

I honestly haven't the slightest idea what any of you are bitching about. What is it you would like the moderators to do differently? They don't make any money off this. Are you expecting them to cruise the board deleting posts or banning people you don't like? We are all hated by someone. Should we all be banned?

If you think the content of the board sucks, it's the posters on the board. Moderators aren't generating the content.

i agree that I contribute to it somewhat. But I will also add this. This place has always not worked for some people. You had a group of guys that tried to start their own site for whatever reason. When I first began posting regularly you had a cabal of people that actively attempted to be more boss than the guy that paid for the site. There are always going to be people that are unhappy for one reason or another.

When the certain subset of guys that constantly railed against BigFan were doing there "thing" did it necessarily make it a better place? Doubt it but people here largely (and still) overlooked it. Why? because they were "their" guys. Did it stop me from posting? Nah because I mostly ignored it. Is there any doubt that a number of posters who felt like they had to choose side left? You bet there were.


How many people do you honestly believe either left or stopped posting as much because of the constant bullshit that certain "caretakers" types pulled with Bigfan? 15-20 I would venture to guess.

For all of the evil Bigfan talk there are some that sided with him and rather than go back and forth about it they either left or stopped posting as much. Interesting and ironically those that constantly complain about how things are going or "running guys off" fail to ever mention this however. It is why I constantly throw the word "hypocrite" out because that is exactly what they are.

I can assure you all 3 moderators generate content on this board. Over 5% of all existing posts were created by one of the 3 moderators, not including Management or any deleted posts from HOVA, for example.

Yes, that certainly isn't a majority of the content. But moderators always control a large portion of content and forums always take on the personality of their admin / admins. Let's not beat around the bush...at least two of the three admins LOVE drama. And probably all three. It is not surprising that a soap opera atmosphere seems to have been fostered. But this is really no different than bigfan's era either.

I don't mind the current state of the board. I don't mind previous states of the board. I'd do things a little differently, but I'm only one person. Having three admins, with sometimes conflicting views, makes things difficult.

For me, it's pretty simple when it comes to perusing threads around here and it's been like this since I found this fucking hell hole. If I don't care for what the topic is about or I see a couple posters going back and forth on and on and on I just pass over it and find something else or create my own shit. Sure it gets tiresome and I have to waste a few seconds of my life (I've wasted it on dumber shit) but it's not going to ruin my day or bother me in anyway.

Okay, I guess. Whatever the admins disagree on, it hasn't affected my posting in the slightest unless I'm unaware of something. People referring to bigfan's board vs this board have lost me. This board is essentially the same as bigfan's board. If there is really editing of posts, that's bullshit. It's sneaky, and it shouldn't happen. But by and large, I don't think that's happening. In general, we are all able to interact with each other in pretty much any manner we want with some extreme exceptions.

FWIW, I didn't really have an issue with how bigfan ran the board (generally). My issues with him were more personal, especially when I was banned for basically no reason for a year. But I'm not gonna piss on his grave. More or less, he ran the board fine. Running this board shouldn't be a job - it should just be someone to turn the lights on and open the doors.
