Its like Colin Cowherd said just today.

In favre's day, people valued gunslingers, big QBs with strong-ass arms.

Tom Brady has redefined the position so that now whats valued is accuracy, efficiency, and getting the ball out in 3 seconds.

It aint that Favre was overrated, its that the position has been redefined so that now it looks like he sucked dick.

But at that time, he was top 5. Along with Elway and Marino and shit.

He wasn’t too 5 when he retired. Favre was a compiler, a 2nd or 3rd tier HOF QB.

Not in my mind. Most people don't rank him as a top 5 QB of all time. Many of these rankings has him in the 7-12 range which I think is just about right.

I've never understood putting he or Elway above this level.

Agreed, he's a 7th or 8th best as of right now, definitely in the top 10. I've got him ahead of Peyton.

FF the poster, not the QB!

And yes Marino was the best in my mind until Manning. I always thought Marino was the best passer, but I have to give that to Manning now. And the best winner is now Brady over Montana.

Brady is the best in the playoffs. Favre is 44/30 TD/INT. Elway is 27/21. Playoffs are tough. With Manning, I am saying he is the best pure passer. You could easily argue Brees or Marino.

Rodgers is better than Manning, Brees and Montana too.

Rodgers playoff stats are for sure on a TD to INT basis.

Rodgers plays outdoors too, like Brady. Not a dome queen

You only say that because he got a second ring( he did fuckall in that game)

His run 15 years ago when he won his first ring( against Bears) he had more turnovers than touchdown in that post season. He's the only guy ever to win a ring while having more turnovers than TD in a post season n get a ring. He's the most over rated NFL player in history.

Actually, that is not why I am saying that. Manning and Favre have a lot of similarities in their careers with both compiling record-breaking stats but often falling short in huge games. Whatever criteria you use, Manning is going to come out ahead between the two. I think Manning is at the bottom of the 1st tier of HOF QBs while Favre is somewhere in the second tier.

Brady
Everyone else

My top 5 probably looks like this:

Brady
Marino
Elway
Montana
<generic old guy that I never saw actually play but I feel like I should include them in the list>

Elway always gets way too much love on these lists. He’s nowhere near top 10 all time.

What criteria are you using? According to the NFL Reference site, Elway is the #8 QB for weighted value which doesn’t take into account the postseason.

He's my favorite QB all time so I usually have him too high. He's certainly top 10 though. I'd take him over any QB not named Brady in the league right now.

That's nuts. He's nowhere near the class of Rodgers and Brees. This was Rodgers worst year and he was still better than 90% of the Elway seasons. If he was in the NFL in his prime right now Elway would rank right around wherever Cam ranks. Most overrated athlete in pro sports history.

Completely different passing rules today. Defenders can't even breathe on Rodgers. Did a sack of Elway ever result in a rule change?
