For Dennis Smith Jr and a few other pieces might be involved.

Probably too late for the Mavs this season to make up 5 games and pass 5 clubs just to get their ass kicked as a #8 seed, but it sounds like they got him for virtually nothing.

The Knicks mismanagement of their franchise for two decades and counting really is remarkable. GarPax has nothing on their ineptitude.

The Bulls need to step up their tanking game. The Knicks are currently putting on a clinic on how to tank.

this explains why DSJ was running the point instead of Luka the other night in MSG. He was on a tryout. Picked a good game to get a triple double.

Does this trade mean Dallas is gonna try and tank and hang onto their top 5 protected pick?

Seems like NYK gave him away for nothing, but pretty tough to trade a guy currently sitting out with a torn ACL who also demands a trade. I'm guessing the plan is to go all in on the free agents and try and get Kyrie and KD. they'll have the money now.

you think the knicks have a plan? the last time they had a plan it was:

step 1: hire phil jackson basketball genius to run front office
step 2: ??
step 3: win titles

the knicks make garpax look competent

it's the Knicks so take it with a grain of salt, but they could end up having $75 million in cap space this summer. I would imagine the only way they get a top FA to come there is if they can get 2 of them to commit at the same time.

Agreed. And I really hope so.

But this makes GarPax worse and more inept than usual. Get an assistant Dallas GM in here and clean house.

Now.

It's amazing that in a league where teams from a few certain cities pretty much luck into superstars and great teams that the Knicks are so bad at managing things they end up being terrible.

This all started when they chose Carmelo over Jeremy Lin.

It is depressing to watch the Bulls be the team to never pull off the huge deal.

The Knicks are headed in the right direction. Mills knows what he is doing. Kanter will also be rolling out as well.

They have to clean up the mess that Phil made. Should've have drafted Smith when they had the chance last season

It looks like there are a handful of teams that are out of reach, namely Chicago, NY, Phoenix and Cleveland. So not much room for Dallas to get to bottom 5, but its doable. The only team left that is more than 3 games worse than Dallas is Atlanta and they are 10-10 in their past 20 games and trending up.

Take DeAndre off Dallas and they will definitely slip in the standings.

Hardaway Jr is an excellent pickup for Dallas.
