And I forgot Airplane! & Easy Money.

Airplane is awesome, but it's essentially the same movie as Naked Gun. I saw Naked Gun first so it will always have the pride of place in my comedy heart.

This makes me sad.

It reminds me of when someone said to my Mother that my Dad looks just like me and she reminded me that “No, you look like your Father”.

They both are great and have terrible endings.

Almost forgot about Back to School. That's a good one as well. Burt Young played a good sidekick.

Dangerfield movies definitely crack me up. He's comedy gold.

Fist picture I saw Pesci in was Raging Bull.

Sorry to derail thread... Murray is okay with me. I do wish he could have let go of some things with Ramis and give us Ghostbusters 3 before he passed. Having said that, I hope they bring back as many of the original cast for the 2020 thing as possible.

Dan Ackroyd called Bill Murray in an interview I saw the best comedic actor around. He was obviously sucking up to him, because he wants him for Ghostbusters 3.

In truth, Bill Murray was good in Stripes and Caddy Shack, but that's pretty much it. I didn't especially like him in Ghostbusters, because he was a ham.

Singing Star Wars as the lounge singer on SNL was funny. Chevy Chase was a better comedic actor, as we debated a while ago.

Adrienne Barbeau was playing his wife. He pulls out Polaroids of her cheating on him after she threatens him with divorce and taking everything.

Bill Murray was great until he became a cult hero to millenials that loved Ghostbusters and now he just kind of does stuff and everyone applauds even though anyone else doing it would be annoying.

Note: I am a millennial who loved Ghostbusters.

48 Hours - 1982
Beverly Hills Cop - 1984
Fletch - 1985

I think all of those comedies still remain funny today. Obviously Murphy was a force of nature during that time which helps propel two of those movies. Fletch was based off of a pretty damn good book, so I think that helps the story hold up.

Plus iirc Richard Pryor helped write it so we can laugh together

Ghostbusters is lame AF, he's been around for 40 years, he's been in like 5 great things and the rest is garbage. BTW blazing saddles is awful, so is Fletch. And airplane.. pure garbage.

How many bad takes can you squeeze into a single ppst?

Quick Change is a very funny movie.

Murray seems like a douche in real life, though. Great job with the 7th inning stretch a few years ago.

Those are all good movies, too (unlike Caddyshack).

Those Fletch books were funny--well, I read two--but that Fletch was a little bit of a different character. More flawed, more human. Interesting books.

Pryor wrote along with Brooks and was supposed to play Bart but the studio couldn’t afford the insurance to have him due to his extra curriculars.
