I finished the Haunting of Hill House. That was a really good show, even without the horror parts. It was just a good backstory of a family.

I've started it and am two episodes in. Still not sure where the balance will fall between family drama and horror show. The first episode had more horror than the second.

The tracking shots in Episode 6 were fantastic.

Finally finished it and I enjoyed the heck out of it. Just enough scares but the family drama was more compelling. Episodes 5 and 6 were fantastic.

Yeah the show had so much tension in the beginning and the tension more than the horror was amazing. It developed into a great story too. The ending was a bit muffled imho but not bad. The whole series was damn enjoyable.

Watched the Netflix documentary "Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened" this weekend. I knew very little about this story going into watching this, but to see in detail what went down with Fyre Festival is one of the greatest con-man scam stories I have ever seen. Excellent telling of the story.

That was a good show. How about what the guy did at the end? What a scumbag.

Yeah... and he wanted to just keep the cameras rolling. You never know what you'll get!

watched this last night.....wow, people are gullible. I fear the future of 'merica.

Saw this over the weekend. Pretty crazy, and that head guy was quite the egomaniac.

Started watching White Dragon on Prime.

John Sims is an English professor whose wife dies in a car crash in Hong Kong. When he goes to recover the body, he finds out he didnt know about his wife at all and is pulled into the Chinese underworld.

Not too bad so far (through 4 episodes).

This became a catchall for streaming shows with the inclusion of Jack Ryan.

Teaser for Umbrella Academy, coming to Netflix in February. Based on a really good graphic novel. If they do it right it could be really good.

This just came out today and is getting amazing reviews. This is going to be a binge watch for sure.

It's not on Netflix, but I didn't want to start a new topic as this one already has plenty of traffic.
Last night my cousin told me to check out a show called Letterkenny on Hulu.
It was late so I didn't watch any eps yet but I saw a couple clips on YT and it looks like it might be pretty funny.
Any one ever hear of this before?

Got through the first 3 episodes this weekend and it is ok I guess. I need to know a little more about the characters which I am sure will come with time.
I'll keep going on it.

wrapped up Last Kingdom, Bodyguard and Mrs. Maisel (amazon) this weekend. All three were great.

With Bodyguard, amazing how BBC continues to put so much content into these 6 episode seasons. Maybe Marvel Netflix could've learned a thing or two from them before settling on bloated 13 ep seasons for all it's now failed shows.

After a much stronger second season, “Friends From College” is cancelled.

That sucks. Was a great cast.

Really liking Russian Doll. I'm 5 or 6 eps in. Not ha ha funny, but a dark comedy with a really interesting mystery/WTF is going on feel to it.

The Marvel shows aren't failed. They're just having their rights pulled by the mouse.

They were all cancelled and as far as I know there are no plans to move those shows over to a different Disney platform. That says failure. Plus, most of them were critical failures as well as ratings failures. IMO, with the exception of Jessica Jones and parts of Punisher, they were all horrible shows. DD sucked the life out of life, just an awful boring and depressing show full of people crying all the time and a lead character with zero charisma. Defenders was terrible. Didn't bother watching Iron Fist cause it was supposed to be so bad. Punisher season 1 was good in parts, but way too long like all these shows. Didn't see season 2.

JJ season 1 was great, season 2 was solid as well. but both should've been 8-10 eps max.

Had very high hopes for the Netflix Marvel shows when they were announced, but overall it has to be looked back upon as Marvel's biggest misstep of the past 15 years. Just a total dud and wasted opportunity.

Jessica Jones season 1, Daredevil seasons 1 and 3, Luke Cage season 1, and Punisher were good. The rest were blah.

And even those that were good were too long. 8 episodes worth of material stretched out to 13 episodes.

I think even the biggest fans of these shows would agree that they were way too long.

I disagree that DD1 and LC1 were good. DD1 I thought was terrible. He didn't even get his suit till 13 episodes in. Foggy and Karen literally cried every time they were on camera to the point where, in season 2, I would fast forward any time either of them opened their mouth. Other than that I thought the only time the show picked up was when Kingpin was around to steal the show. Same goes for season 2 which only was good when electra, Kingpin or Punisher were involved. HATED Luke Cage, just a horrible show with a horrible villain. It was like watching paint dry.

Started this. Mary J Blige is an awful actress. Other than that this show feels like a mix of Sense 8 with the strange dancing of the OA so far. Not terrible, but not must see through the first few. Dickon is back as number 1.

Just got through episode 5 last night. It is definitely good enough to keep going and see how it ends up. A little strange but it isn't off-putting. Agreed on the bad acting by Mary J Blige. Not sure why she was even cast unless she was just the perfect looking person for the role. Her delivery and timing and even emotions are all stunted and come off awkward.

I didn't even know that was Mary J Blige until the finale. I skipped the intro and didn't really care. Also didn't realize Luther was Dickon.

Both Hazel and Cha Cha actors were awful.

Awful after they took off the masks. I liked what the director was trying to do with the music and action in their masked scenes. Reminded me of Suicide Squad.

***Spoiler***

Hazel and the donut woman were teleported at the "end" Guessing they will be in Season 2.
