AD does have the ball in his hand most of the time.

There’s a solid gap between best player in the league and #2 on a championship team. I don’t agree with that assessment at all.

It's not that big of a gap. To win in today's game, you have to have 2 superstars. It has always been that way, sort of. Golden State has 2 top five players and a few more who are right up there.

Take that rpb

You still got AD top 3?

Top 5 or 6

Agreed. I was with you when the thread was created but gotta move him back a bit. I’m still not giving LeBron’s 9 year crown to Giannis yet though.

1. LeBron
2. Giannis
3. Steph
4. Durant
5. Kawhi
6. AD
7. Jokic
8. Harden
9. Embiid
10. Paul George

Westbrook has been awesome this year but he falls off my original list. Butler does too.

Who was Dirk’s superstar teammate? Tyson Chandler or Jason Terry I guess?

He’s not. He’s awesome.

He has only made the playoffs 2 years out of his first 7 in the league. Might be fair to question it. Know I started the thread but there is something off about him as a player.

He has a helluva No 2 in Holiday. Team should be better.

They're not losing because of Davis. What should he be doing more of? The only legitimate knock on Davis is his inability to stay healthy.

Defensively he could be better and he also isn't much of a passer. To be honest he has enough talent around him to make the playoffs and be a top 4-5 seed.

Guys on here relentlessly bashed my Man Melo. He made the playoffs in a tougher West the first 9 years of his career. If Davis is the guy 2 out of 7 is inexcusable.

I agree with this list, those are the only 5 players I'd take over him.

I'd take Harden and AD over Steph Curry right now. In a heartbeat. Paul George and Embiid also.

He was.

Without research or looking it up I would posit that he had the best postseason run in history if you look at eye test vs stats. Iirc his stats weren’t even all that good but I’m sure you remember me starting a mea culpa thread on here saying how much I liked watching it even though I was vehemently anti-Dirk prior to that. (And that was prior to him beating Miami!)

I might try to find that thread and bump it. Unless you want to, being the long time Dirk guy.

That was a fun time. Watching Dirk carry them was something special.

Feel free to find that thread would be a fun read.

Agreed.

I still think LeBron is the best player. I’m not confident anyone has done enough to take that title from him yet.

meh, you can't be the best player in the game if you only play one side of the court. Lebron is a complete non participant on defense these days.

I have no problem with someone saying Giannis and others are better during the regular season. If it's game 7 of the Finals there is zero chance I'm taking someone other than LeBron out of all active players

that's a trick question because Lebron isn't going to be in the playoffs this year.
