Parkins talking about what is or is not funny. what comics should or should not be doing and saying hour 4 wednesdays show.

Listening to this rich ass, mamby pamby, north shore prick soy boy SJW ass clown shitbreath fuckface talk about media and what is right and wrong, funny or not, (seriously he looks like a Downs Syndrome version of Jon Voight in Midnight Cowboy) and what is thoughtcrime in his orwellian, socialist SJW nazi head is really fucking warped man. He sits there and pontificates like fucking Jerry Lewis, his fucking hubris is palpable, how could anyone not agree with me, all who disagree with me are on the wrong side of history, all must read The Atlantic, try New York Time crosswords and give money to PBS.

I dont know if he was for or against censorship, he talks of his love for comedy, how subversive it is, references Louie CK and some of his over the line comedy bits, and then he ends with how problematic they and eddie murphy's delerious was, I dont know what his position really is, he talks so much of censorship of a private actor in the marketplace of ideas I have to think he is for it, he never made his position in a clear manner though, however on earlier shows he stated his position was that it should be ok to use swear words on the radio but no racial, gay or sexual slurs against trannys or any of that other SJW shit.

I mean have a fucking point soy boy, the sexual harassment jokes in Anchorman are problematic, you are a huge
woke fucktard Parkins. Your SJW agenda is bullshit, here is the thing Parko fucko, Ill say it to you once.

The cost of freedom of speech is the freedom to offend (even racially), content must compete in the marketplace of ideas, you not finding Eddie Murphy's
Delerious stand up funny or entertaining or you being offended by it means what the vietnamese would say titi, very little. You not liking it doesnt change its impact, and your efforts
to chill freedom makes you the very nazi you call the people on the other side of the aisle. If some anti Christian Bill Mahr bullshit went on your headphones you would laugh so hard you would come buckets, its freedom not to offend, but only not to offend members of the SJW agenda's protected class.

I dont know what hes talking about, how the fuck can he be pro censorship of anything at any time and work in media, talk about an unamerican attitude. I guess old Parko would replace George CArlin's famous 7 words you cant say on TV bit with 253 racial slurs that get Parko's panties in a bunch so you cant say them on TV or the radio.

Parko, how about some more of that delicious Colin Kaepernik material, you are well on the way to be worse than Bernsie ever was, and company man Mac is not doing you any favors by letting you talk this shit.

This is why I listen to this show in small doses.

W&S usually stay away from the SJW stuff.

Did not listen to the show today. Assuming this post(while rather harsh) was directed at a segment.

Parkins is talented and very good at radio. He just happens to be more political like most young kids are.

You will hear him say "facts don't matter anymore" in reference to the age of Trump. He is correct, the guy spews so much misinformation.
That said two things can be true, Trump can say misinformation and the other side(democrats, CNN, etc.) can give out misinformation as well. You will never hear Danny go after the misinformation of the other side. Most people do this.

People hear what they want to hear and focus on that. It is all about taking sides. "Being on the right side of history."

If I turn on Fox news gonna hear how great Trump is, how great his policies are, etc. Turn on CNN hear the opposite.

Same with twitter, you follow Mike North you will get far right wing retweets and comments, follow Bernstein get the opposite.
You have very few people in the media who actually think for themselves and are not predictable.

Now that is hard to do and serious talent. South Park is the absolute best show on TV at seeing through all the BS

Shep attempted some faux outrage over LeBron and he failed as usual.

Listening to someone who admits to reading nothing in college prattle on about “the right side of history” is nauseating. It amounts to saying I’ll be proven right when I’m dead. Bold statement.

I don’t mind if the host has different political opinions than me. I’d prefer they stick to guy talk without religion and politics. Those things ruin family parties and generally make for bad radio. I like off topic stuff on music, movies, gambling, etc. It is obvious that Parkins is closer to the DiCaro camp than I would like, but I think he makes up for it by being solid in other areas.

Mac, during Cna't Do It yesterday, said this exactly. He felt he had to clarify something DeCastro said in an interview a while back about sticking to sports. Basically the DeCastro edict is he wants a fun station with all the things you mention and NOT a political station.

Edit: I will go further and say I do not know how we got here really where most hosts need to pontificate, judge and yes be on the right side of history. Somehow we got from Barkley not being a role model to everyone connected to sports must be an angel and under a journalism microscope 24/7. It sucks the life out of it at times.

Edit: this is regarding Delirious post.

For sure. I am an avid defender of free speech. Even more, comedy and satire are really just making light of all the strange things in our society. Like South Park or the Simpsons, the whole idea is to be politically incorrect and show just how obscurd society can be.

Barkley is the way all should be. Just throw tons of crazy stuff at the wall and be entertaining. That NBA show is the model of fun light hearted sports programming as opposed to the over scripted nonsense on ESPN.

I also like Quick Pitch.

Barkley just doesn’t give a damn about political correctness.

I like Parkins a lot, but comedy has no limits. The whole idea is to push the envelope.

He's just wrong on this, but a lot of people agree with him.

It's also about timing with comedy. That's why comedy ages so quick.

When Delirious came out, the word "burrito" was not a big deal. Now it is.

And with the way things are going, I guarantee there are things Parkins is laughing at right now that will be considered taboo in 20 years.

But I dont look to Parkins for comedy recommendations or reviews.

Many modern Leftists - particularly SJWs - don't see their thoughts as political. In fact, if you asked someone like Parkins, he would probably agree with you that sports radio is not the place for politics. That's because he doesn't view his brand of politics to be debatable, and therefore he doesn't see it as political talk. He, and many others, have become so self-righteous in the era of Donald Trump that their political views are exempt from the rules of avoiding political discussions because what they are stating is just true. He is merely relaying facts to the listener, not espousing political opinions. Consider also that he is surrounded by people who have the exact same viewpoint, and it becomes pretty clear how someone could create an internal narrative that every sane person on Earth agrees with his views and therefore he is free to broadcast them whenever and wherever without the typical restraints on political talk that most people have to adhere to.

I think you are absolutely correct.

Around 2:00 or so, Parkins was talking about Sinclair media and how abhorrent it is that they were interjecting their political views into their programming. He said he highly doubted that would happen during Cub broadcasts, but said he would call them out if it did. Mac said many texters were asking if Parkins would still have a problem with it if the views they espoused agreed with his own. He danced around it for a while but I think he eventually, essentially said he would still have a problem with it. Mac said many texters did not believe him, and based on exactly what storkinastorm said, I don't either.

Tad you picked up on something that has been good. Parkins and Mac have been going a bit more live with the text feedback both good and bad. I like it.
