Here's a tip to the readers out there - don't skim that first sentence too quickly.

It could be startling.

Well, sorry I didn't donate my gall bladder or whatever, but I've been out there three times already feeding the birds and de-icing their water. That might not be as good as donating an organ, but is at least a case of 1 and 1-A.

Mostly only woodpeckers today. The other birds aren't coming so far.

Looks like my front porch. Packed with starlings and sparrows.

Nice. Not as scary as made out to be?

Good question

My father had guns when I was a kid, so I started off with his .22 from back in the day. He also had a .357 ( T-Bone), 9mm and a .220 Swift rifle he built himself. The .357 was a cannon, especially to a kid, and the .220 was just a badass rifle. I associated personal firepower with massive power/size. Stick/ball sports were more my thing though, so I never really developed an interest in guns.

My neighbor's rifles are like big handguns, at least that was how they felt to me. From a technology standpoint, the AUG is impressive. 30 round clip.

The AR-15 was incredibly light compared to the AUG. It looked like it would be easy to fire, not bracing yourself for any kind of kick like when I was a kid, but like firing from a bicycle while riding no-handed would be no big deal (not giving JORR any ideas here).

Not my father's guns.

Ah, the two worst kinds of punks you want. Especially the starlings.

Used to bird hunt. Loved guns. Just have to be smart about it. If not actively hunting I never felt comfortable until I could tell every gun being handled by anyone around me had empty magazine and chamber. Lots of stupid gun owners floating around.

That’s where break action guns are nice. I’m never comfy around strangers (or some people I know well) with pump or SA guns while upland hunting or clays. At least waterfowl people are sitting still. Just leave the brandy at home.

I know the feeling, our Q7 was a pain. My S4 has only had regular maintenance though, and it passed 50k miles.

You going to even look into the highly rated SIlverado or Sierras? Or you a smaller model guy like Tacoma or Colorado?

4Runner.

Sierras are kickass but I wouldn't use a fraction of its capabilities. I rent so I can't even use the excuse of needing a pickup to haul 2x4s from Home Depot

Unfortunately, the 4Runner will be mostly a pavement princess but hoping to drive out to SW Colorado and Flagstaff later this year.

Sounds nice. I saw a food show (forgot which) the other night. Key West and all you mention. I was very desirous.

Got a foot and half of snow at the lake house. The wife and I snowmobiled to the bar. It’s 5:00 somewhere right? Shot of Jack Fire and a house beer. Ok off to the next trail bar.

Done exactly nothing today except watch PBS and befitting the start of baseball, The Rookie.

Until I go get Mexican food and watch my favorite (non family) kid I've ever coached play on MLB Network tonight.
