I don't think Pakistan operates the T72, they have their own MBT.

The T72s were on the Indian side, I just didn't have the video on hand to post.

India has homgrown Arjun,T-72M1 and T-90S
Paks have MBT 2,561+: 415 Al-Khalid (MBT 2000); 320 T-80UD; 51

The Indian Navy may be putting to sea. Big if true.

No one is going to use nukes. Bad blood between the nations for a long time and it was bound to occur. Wish the national news focused on this more than a lying, disbarred attorney.

Probably a less than 10% chance this does go nuclear, but it should be pointed out that Pakistan did want to go nuclear in the last major round between the 2 sides.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/worl ... 58501.html

However, a 10% chance of something as dire as that situation is still significant.

Those mountains next to Afghanistan are an issue if they were to try to take the entire country.

Pakistan gets a ton of Saudi money. I wonder if war breaks out if it draws in other Muslim countries. The call to Jihad.

I'm wondering if they are going to drop nukes. Got to dust up on some of those old air raid drills before Alzheimer's kicks in and I forget.

India gets Saudi money too. MBS just met with Modi last week. In fact, the Saudis are saying they want to mediate.

Which means they won't be dropping nukes. Woooh! good god. Glad that is over.

Not only Nukes but you got some serious players that have the potential to get dragged into this.

No major powers have been involved with previous India-Pakistan wars nor are any looking to do so. China wouldn't mind India being placated by Pakistan, but they aren't going to jump in.

This is strictly a regional conflict and will remain so.

Yeah, but the Saudis need to go with majority Islamic countries first. They remaim in a conflict with Iran to be the leader in the Islamic world. I don't think either side in this one wants mediation at this point. They want the other side to blink.Maybe it will end up being pure spin with claims of victory by both sides, but it looks like there is going to be plenty of saber rattling in between.

I said serious not major. I mean this could blow up into a region mess real fast.

That doesn't seem to make a difference with the Saudis anymore. The Saudis (at least their government) are looking at things through a different lens than past governments may have.

The Saudis have always projected an Islamic image but in reality their statecraft has been fairly typical of other secular autocratic regimes, save for the rhetoric. One needn't look past their own ongoing destruction of (Muslim) Yemen, or their undermining of Morsi's Islamist regime back in 2013-2014, to understand that the jihad paradigm isn't a strong rationale for predicting what they would do in a war between India and Pakistan. Just last week in China MBS basically said "who?" in response to questions about what he/Saudi planned to do about the alleged persecution of the Muslim minority population in the western part of the country. He/they don't give a shit. The unique part of their statecraft will come into play when they find value in leveraging religion to achieve some foreign policy objective, like weakening Iran's regional status, or lobbying rank and file Muslims to respect/revere the regime because it oversees Mecca.

Now hold on one second. You mean to tell me that the Saudis do not live and breathe to bring worldwide Jihad to a town near you? You know that makes your thoughts "anathema" to those that are typically held on this board? Careful now.

So if the Saudis are the ESPN of the Islamic world then what does that make Iran? I'm thinking Fox Sports how about you?

The regime might not but they go ahead and let the Wahabbi Puritans speak abroad for the religion.

I see that Pakistan has released the captured India pilot to promote peace. Seems like many Indian journalists still want more action to fight what they describe as terrorists though.

Khan has offered to call Modi to discuss deescalation, but Modi is refusing the call.

The JeM issue is still there and not resolved and until that is done, I don't see India backing down, especially with Modi facing elections soon.

I couldn't give 2 shits about the people, I'm concerned for the snow leopards though in Pakistan and lions, tigers and elephants in India.

There will always be a useful idiot present that buys into the hype.

Pakistan just announced a further 3 day closure of their entire airspace, has now delayed the release of the captured pilot, and is now boycotting the OIC meeting because India is there.

This isn't over yet. This can deescalate, but it's going to require that Pakistan take the initiative and deal with JeM as this crisis won't end if JeM remains able to operate with the approval of Pakistan.

Cross border shelling is still ongoing throughout Kashmir
