When I lived in Chicago, my favorite paczki spts were Ideal Pastries on Lawrence and Bennison's in Evanston.

People who claim that paczki are "just jelly donuts" amount to nothing more than walking billboards advertising their colossal ignorance.

Some of the fresh fruit and homemade whipped cream paczki you can get in the Chicago area--provided you know the right spots--are out of this world.

But if you're just going over to Oak Mill Bakery or some other shithole because you saw WGN news do a story on them, then you deserve to have an embolism.

No, I'm correct. It's a bit of a thing, but not the overreaction made about them here in the United States. I think it definitely has to do with the large % of morbidly obese, type 2 diabetics we have.

They are generally not very good. I got some at Oak Mill Bakery up north on Harlem. They were OK. Whenever I go to a Polish establishment, they always speak to me in Polish. Alas I know about 3 Polish words. Little cutie gave me 8 for the price of 6 though. Charm is the universal language.

Speaking of which, does anyone know of a GOOD and NICE Polish restaurant in Chicago? Not the usual cheap dive, but some place you could have a nice evening out.
