As a lifelong giants fan, i am delighted with this trade. This team was terrible with him and was likely going to continue be terrible with him for at least another couple of seasons going forward. They are riddled with holes, and while he is truly a top-tier WR they were better off getting some assets in return for him. At least they are self-aware enough to know that the quicker they blow this mess up the quicker they can become relevant again. As for that hideous drafting record, that is almost all thanks to Jerry Reese, who was wisely let go. Anyone who thinks the giants screwed up by taking Barkley instead of Josh Rosen or Sam Darnold is insane.

I am not saying the Giants won this trade because if they dont use these picks they got back wisely they wont have, but I appreciate them taking some steps to try to re-build. They have 12 draft picks this year including 2 1st-rounders, a 2nd, a 3rd, 2 4ths and 3 5th-rounders. they COULD fill a lot of holes and possibly get Haskins if that is they guy they are looking for.

My personal feeling is I love the trade but I also know that if they fuck up this draft and DON'T land Haskins or another future QB than it probably was a squandered opportunity.

They screwed up by not taking Darnold. I am perfectly sane.

We shall see I suppose.

ok, to be fair, what fucking team still has any picks from the 04 draft on their team? How many guys from 04 are even in their league....the realistic expectation is you should have a good chunk of guys from the 2013-2014 draft and forward as key cogs of your team now.

The 04 thing is an inside joke for Giants fans. They have some Mannelly type long snapper theyve had forever they are bringing back again next year, he's the 04 guy.

Browns were already good last year once Baker took over.

Now they will be great.

It's a shame that Johnny Football didn't get to play for the competent Browns.

Cousin from Cleveland emailed me to say that "Cleveland is in shock. The good kind of shock, not the 'We drafted Manziel?' kind of shock."

Odell was going to be incredibly annoying playing for a losing team. It's hard to blame the Giants, but they should not have signed him to that contract. Is Peppers considered a bust at this point?

If Eli didn't suck the team would be contenders, Barkley and OBJ could make a mediocre QB look good. Eli is just garbage.

I think the jury is still out on Peppers but not looking worth the pick so far.

I did not follow what happened to him last year. I know he was a bad ass in college, but a bit of a tweener for the NFL.

I still have a hunch that the Steelers finish better than the Browns.
