Eff that guy. Tomorrow's the day my son finds out he didn't get into Jones (perfect grades, but does not do well on tests). Tuition at the Catholic school he wants to go to: 12.7 K

Such is life. My daughter got into an art high school three years ago, so I can't complain.

Not too hard. He applied there and should get in or get waitlisted. If he doesn't, and you're from the 19th Ward, apparently if you call the alderman's office, they'll help you. A few of my nieces went there and loved it--but my son heard all sorts of bad stuff as his Catholic school (the next parish to the east of you) and he doesn't want to go there. I think when he visits it, he'll see it isn't a "bad" school. But I'd feel bad sending him there if he doesn't know anyone. Still: 12.7 K. I wouldn't mind that if he went to the alma mater (there's nothing there for him, unfortunately), but otherwise . . .
