DeFalco claims to be the best hoops guy in the city. Bernsie knows his shit. So do you Goff.

Can you beat Carm in a fight Jason.

Tell us what happen with Hood? Was it really ugly at the end? He really seemed bitter.

It's funny that you mention that because I've actually played with Carm at the Berto Center once before. Schuster invited me up and the three of us played. It was a game of 21 and Carm won. I actually like him on the air and aways have. That was my once and only time meeting him and he seemed like a really good dude.

I cant really speak on the Hood issue at the station because honestly I was so immersed in making an impression on the show I had been recently placed on (B&B) so much so that the station stuff was way down the list of my priorities.

I think Flip is a decent coach and the growth that young players have shown under him is substantial. If you remember correctly the reason that he and Ben Wallace had the falling out because he brought the thought process that the next basket was more important than the next stop or defensive possession. Of the three coaches available (Johnson, Collins, and Saunders) I think Saunders is the best. The Bulls are the laughing stock of the league right now because of how they are handling this coaching situation. I also think that John Paxson is trying to make his eventual exit as GM as easy as possible and maybe thinking about that a little more than he should. If you look at a guy like Doug Collins he would be easily slide into a GM position and the Notre Dame Athletic Director rumors don't make it look any better for him. And you're right we do basketball better than anyone in this city in my opinion.

Damn Goff, I really respect you and Bernstein's basketball acumen, but... Seriously??????? Flip is a terrible coach. He's a career assistant that has lucked into a lot of decent coaching jobs and blown all of them. He's a good X's and O's guy that is terrible at handling players and routinely disrespected. Avery Johnson might even be worse, but thats a whole other story. Im not a big fan of Doug Collins(see: Doug Collins thread in Bulls section), but he's far better than Flip.

1.)Care to elaborate on what substantial growth the young players have shown under Flip? I'll give you Maxiell, but I wouldnt credit to that Flip. Although McDyess played very well this postseason, I would actually argue Maxiell was under-utilized this postseason. How the hell can Theo Ratliff's corpse get playing time in significant situations over this kid?

2.) It took Flip untill Game 4 to realize that Lindsey Hunter could be vital in this series, and that when Rondo was out of the game neither Eddie House nor Cassell could handle a full court press. Even when someone eventually told him this, he still didnt utilize it enough.

3.) Chris Webber said on national TV on TNT when asked what Flip is saying to the team during halftime, and Im paraphrasing here, "Well this is a veteran group that knows what needs to get done, and Im not sure they are really putting much stock into whatever Flip is telling them right now." Wow. This is a guy that was on the team last season.

Bottom line is this guy is routinely outcoached in playoff series, and his players have absolutely no respect for him. I've never heard a ringing endorsement by a former player of his. Also, I dont think he really developed any young players. Sure, he was KG's coach most of his career, but Im not gonna give Flip credit for that given the rest of his resume. If anything, that might be a reason KG is thought of as a playoff choker.

Hood and I had a great time together.

I really don't need/want to get into anything that involves station business past/present/future because it's just that; station business. Just like family stuff. You didn't go to school when you were a kid and let everyone know what was going on at home good or bad because it was family stuff. Even more so now because it's business. If you guys ever wanna talk sports or about the show (sports stuff) I'm here. I've always frowned on guys who walked around the station and smiled in your face yet came on this message board under aliases and said things that weren't anyone's business or for that matter even interesting. I may get smashed for saying that by the board members; but that's just how I feel. So if it's gossip or ratings talk you're looking for I may be the wrong person to ask. Not because I don't respect the curiosity; I just don't feel it's my place to speak on certain things.

I understand that. I just like to try to see if some of you guys will take the bait.

You should check out what Mac wrote about North in the Pappy section Goff. You might find that interesting.

Mac is pretty open here. He can be. He's got some standing in the business.

I read half of it today and then I had to go home. All I can say is that I don't always agree with Mike's opinions but he's never done anything in anyway off the air to make me think bad of him. In fact when my grandfather died a few years ago the biggest wreath at his funeral was from Mike and his wife. Same thing for when my grandmother died a couple of years ago. If you ask me Mike is the American dream. From nothing to something.

Yeah. Everybody says he's generous. He'll buy you drinks and stuff. I guess when he does that everybody has to talk nice about him. That's his game.

Still that doesn't make up for him being stupid. He gets away with a lot. He's been able to last with a horrible show. He really doesn't know sports. That's the biggest problem. Plus he's been a jerk too.

I know Goff. You can't comment on anything I've said. Not asking you to.

Jason, you do love hitting the "what" sound bite after a Pappy promo. You also love playing the Pappy music. We all know that.

Can we, as a society, please get over the whole use of the "n word" in hip hop? It's really not that big a deal. It is just a word. Words are benign. The usage and the implications and the intentions behind words are the problem.

David Duke using the "n word" is a lot different than when T.I. says it.

On a side note I'll be on the 15th of June. I wanna know what you guys want to talk about. I have a lot of stuff in mind seeing as I'm preparing for the show while I type this post. But I want to know what you guys think is topical and worthy of air time. Like I said; I feel I have a good sense of what is topical and important amongst the Chicago sports landscape but a little input never hurts. Is it the thrilling 6 game Stanley Cup Finals (of which I never thought would reach 6 games). Or is it the Bulls and the first pick; etc? Tell me what you think and believe that it wont be in vain. I don't like to base my show on whatever is in the papers. Albeit they are very important and sometimes news-making; I feel they have the same job as I have which is to inform and entertain the consumer so why should I solely rely on them to have a good show. I read them everyday but they are rarely the foundation or basis in which I talk to you on the air about. You guys are the reason both stations exist and I'll never look past the contributions you make to shows that more times than not need to be entertaining and informative.

I'm more than willing to call in and discuss NBA hoops with you, and why it's idiotic to consider Flip a good coach and developer of players.

P.S. Im serious

Jason - by the 15th, the big topics will probably be the following ( I PREDICT)

- Both Chicago teams still in first and the upcoming weekend is the series at Wrigley
- Bulls #1 pick
- I fear we will still be waiting for the Bulls to announce a coach
- I think we passed the first big cut day in the NFL, but are there guys available that the bears should look at? How about Travis Henry?

Take calls on who would star in a chicago newsbabes version of two girls, one cup.

That should light em up like christmas trees.

I'm with FavreFan, Jason. I would love to hear some really detailed basketball talk on your next show. I always consider your hoops discussions must-hear radio and really enjoyed your dissection of the Bulls this past season, particularly when you were taking Deng to task. On the 15th, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the NBA Finals, how far the Bulls are from contending in the East, what moves they need to make in the draft and free agency, what they should do with their coaching search, etc. You are great at talking hoops and the 15th will be a great time to address many NBA topics. Play to your strengths, my friend.

They'll be running the LifeLock 400 at Michigan International Speedway that day. So, I'll expect a good hour discussion on whether Carl Edwards can repeat, should there be more NASCAR races in the Midwest, where's Tony Stewart going, will Jr. win a race this year, who's got the hotter wives/girlfriends NASCAR vs. MLB, etc. I'm sure you know the hot topics as a good lead in to the race.

Welcome to the board Jason. Glad to see you're not posting that much. Honestly I admit having radio personalities come on here is good for everyone. You will find, as I'm sure you already have, there are some very knowledgeable insightful posters here.

-For the record Jason, you obviously responded to a post that I edited but not before you chimed in on it. I read it after th fact and decided to change some things. I'm a man and I can admit that.

And yes I think the NBA has the biggest "thug" problem by far of any sport. Thats not a black or white thing. Its just fact. I feel Mr. Stern would agree with me that there is a problem. I could name twenty thugs without hesitating. Sorry! They're mostly black.

You are a Bernsie wannabe. You and L. Holmes talk down to the dumb callers and giggle like a school girl when Bernsie goes off on his rants.

And putting that song on your page with THE SCORE logo was stupid and you know it.

They used to do Last Call together, but Abbatacola took "Grandma Trivia" with him when they were separated.

When I continually rip Pax I point to something I heard from one of your shows, that there was hardly ever a time this year when the Bulls had the best player on the court. With the resources Pax had, cap space, draft picks, expiring contracts, there was no excuse for that to happen. Someone who played with Jordan should know better.

Give me one headline of an NBA player that's been arrested in the last month and I'll give five headlines of NFL players...
