I just saw Thome's HR and yes it was a CF Blast.

But CF wall is 400? Right? (Looked at Sox website)

and ball went another 50, 60, 70 feet?, OK I will give you 80

Hawk "that ball had to go 600 feet!"

Just for a Quick sense of REALITY, Glen Allen Hill's shot was estimated at 518 Feet and landed on the roof across from Wrigley. Based on Hawk's estimation Thomes ball tonight would have cleared the building outside Wrigley and landed in the alley.

I laughed at Hawk too. It wasn't 600.

Hawk got word and told us they marked it at 518. It might have been further thatn that. Maybe 530.

It's 400 to center. Somebody should get a tape measure out after the game and officially measure it.

Hawk is a homer but no doubt in my mind based on your posts that he has forgotten more baseball than you've ever known.

Maybe Farmer was joking I did not hear that, but I also heard Hawk and has just gone crazy with his homer comments.

He embarasses me as a Sox fan. Everything done by a Sox player is amazing, every call against us is the worst Hawk has ever seen.

I would rather have him announce a game and actually say "That was a bad play, that player needs to do this" instead of making up an excuse for everything.

Ranger reported that they have a surveyor out before the season to shoot distances from home plate.

Well this surveyor is wrong.

Shuester said that the Sox are now estimating it at 465 feet. Wrong.

This is pissing me off. You clearly see where it landed on TV. You know the fence is 400 to straight away center.

Let's do this the old fashion way. Get a god damn tape measure. Hook it to the fence and have somebody walk the tape up the batters eye, over the shrubs, to Jim Thome's homerun spot we go. My God. It's so simple. We don't have to guess.

Ranger. Put yourself to use. Next time you're at the cell do this before or after the game.

.

Do you understand what I mean when I say a surveyor shoots the distances? Stop embarrassing yourself.

I assume it means that they have markers around the stadium that have already been measured. I'm just saying if they said Thome's homer is 465 then they should measure it again cuz it's wrong.
