The absence of the salad is completely relevant.

It's a great thread because 312 is a dumbass. He's providing great entertainment here and doesn't even know it.

So your biggest problem with all of this is the messed up pizza, and not the fact that they shorted you something that you paid for?

You are just all kinds of smart, aren't you?

I never looked at the salad you dumb Kunt..the salad is irrelevant if the pizza is fucked up.

You couldn't have looked at the salad you claimed to have ordered. It wasn't there according to what you posted. Which would have been your first clue tht there was a blatantly obvious problem with your order.

I'm starting to think that you made the story up just to be able to post again that you were able to terrorize a female.

And you and trying to play victim here, with HG's help, is truly an incredible turn of events altogether.

Dumb Kunt, alatar boy, something something, stupid fuck etc...

Did you open the pizza box and expect to find your salad in there? Or were you too drunk by that point to even know that your supposed "gf" had ordered a salad?

Well, it's come up more than once now, so I'm not the only person thinking it. How did you not know you didn't get the salad? That should have been the moment you knew something was wrong.

Happens way more often than you'd think.

The person that answers the door is not always the person that orders.

I will say when I delivered pizzas about 99.9% of customers paid without checking the food. Then it gets messed up and they start checking it.

In 312's account, he appeared to know there was a salad involved. He heard the phone order.

Then he forgot about it. I don't think its that crazy or some OMG how CAN you be so stupid? type thing.

I think rogers park bryan will back me up on this:

The no salad should have been some kind of red flag. That's when you say, "I had a salad, are you sure this is my food?"

Odds are your food was in that same driver's car.

A bunch of this is on them, but some of this is on you. Your response was disproportionate.

Agreed.

Walking up with just a pizza box was the first clue something was off.

Yes, the no salad should be alarming but forgetting bout a side you ordered is not that rare.

Best practice is to open the pizza and at least make sure everything is there before letting the driver leave.

At the end of the day, its on the place to deliver the order correctly. 312 could have mitigated the damage.

I mean, he is the customer. He might be too drunk to drive so he's ordering delivery. He really should be able to be drunk and enjoy the correct food without serving as quality control for Barracos.

Both places I worked at would prioritize taking care of mistakes though. Busy or not, if you dont get your food, its going out with the next driver.

312, were you an asshole to them on the phone?

Yup. Make the driver come in. Lock the door. Check the pizza thoroughly. Any errors you call the restaurant directly and speak with the manager. Do not unlock the door until you are completely satisfied.

I've never had an incorrect order issue.

The no salad thing is a red flag, as stated.

Outside of the salad, nobody checks their pizza by opening the box before the driver leaves. It's been awhile but I delivered pizzas for several years and pretty much never saw anyone do that. If they did that before paying me I would be highly annoyed.

Personally I'm fascinated with the concept of going in the next day, buying drinks, then arbitrarily picking '70%' as what you will pay

Withholding payment is enough to stop the driver from leaving. No need to lock them in your home.

In this scenario do you take the driver's cell phone away so he can't call the cops?

I'm a reasonable person, I understand orders get fucked up. Just apologize and say " were very busy, I'm sending a driver out with your cash ASAP" you don't tell me we're busy, and hang up the phone when they fucked up.. then hang up on me when I keep calling back to cuss em out.

I paid by credit card. My only leverage in the situation is the loss of freedom of the driver.

Incongruent Alert!!

Why was it so difficult to ascertain that the salad was missing?

Right, but I also don't let the pizza sit for ten minutes before I open it up. It takes me 4 seconds to walk from the front door to the kitchen. Within 20 seconds, I've got the box open. Maybe the driver is still in the driveway where you can catch him before s/he leaves.

Also, as mad as you might be, you don't 'call 3x" and cuss the restaurant out. Drivers and cooks are human and mistakes happen, and yes the customer should be taken care of. "You kill more flies with honey," so you call up and respectfully explain your issue, and you likely get a refund or/or free food. Its very simple.

You're so reasonable that you call the place three times solely to "cuss them out."

I would have hung up on your sorry ass too.

I hadn't thought of this but then it gets into a big issue involving the credit card companies with forms to fill out. It's much easier to simply hold the driver indefinitely until another driver delivers the correct order.
