Yeah, after Thome hit the HR he said something to the effect that it should shut up the critics, or prove he still 'has it' or something along those lines. As nice as it was I don't consider 1 HR a breakout, like all of a sudden he's going to catch fire. I hope he does but I severely doubt it

Nice to see the sweep after Ozzie's little rant. Especially so dumbfucks like Mariotti cant say shit right now. I know it was the Royals but a sweep is a sweep. Big series against the Twins coming up tomorrow.

I'm happy that the White Sox swept the Royals, but let's not get too excited. The Royals have sucked since George Brett retired, and rookie manager Trey Hillman has an uphill battle trying to revive that sorry franchise. He may have young players up & down his roster, but he'll be the fall guy if they're not much better within 3 years. I'm probably "Captain Obvious" saying that, but that's the painful truth with teams like Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Washington and other bottom feeder franchises who lack the resources to compete on the field and start disappearing from the pennant race right now.

Perfect timing playing the Royals.

The other teams in the division have all played KC at least six times. Having extra games against the Royals in our back pocket will be nice in August and September.

OK, I won't get excited about beating the Royals.

I will get excited about being in first place for the better part of two months. I will be excited by Contrearas returning to the 05-06 Cy Young level of performance. I will be excited by the 2.5 game lead they now hold. I will be excited that one of the principal competitors in the division is teetering on elimination and the other is already putting feelers out about trading its top pitcher. I will be excited by the third best road record in the AL. I will be excited by a great record against the division. I will be excited by the pitching staff.

In short, I'm excited about the Sox.

Oh, I didn't know you knew about that thread. The 'Cubs Suck chant' joke has been made by a few different people in a few different threads/forums.
